Jamie Oliver Flavour Shaker
This is my second one. I dropped the first and it cracked and I immediately went and ordered another! I love this gadget. We quite often have a simple pasta and I love to us the Flavour Shaker for the sauce. EVOO, smooshed garlic, fresh basil, sea salt, ground pepper and lemon juice. Just shake and pour!

Weak
The idea is good, the execution terrible. The plastic cracked after about three months of use. I did not drop it, I did not use it in the dishwasher, plain and simple the ball hit the sides too hard. I tried to contact customer support and got bit silence in return (this was a few years back now).Don't waste your money.

Pretty but useless
I ordered these for myself several members of the family because the description made it sound quite useful. Wrong! The only thing it's good for is making a salad dressing, and it doesn't really pulverize whole garlic or much of anything else.

Broke after three uses.
I use this mainly for making vinaigrette dressings. After three uses the threads broke off. I was able to super glue a few back on. Does all right for dry goods now, but nothing wet. Dressings I now make in my Snapware Airtight containers.

Purchased as a gift, and my friend has no complaints. Did take a while longer than expected to arrive, but nothing too awful.

Flavor shaker
This thing is so handy! I've watched Jamie use it forever. So I decided I should have one! Many applications, easy to clean and it sits beside my stove so I use it a lot!Love Jamie Oliver anyway. Smart man and a good cook! I use his recipes a lot!

Good tool
Have not really used it but it seems to be easier than the mortar and pestle. I think it will be very useful

Excellent product
Easy to use; easy to clean. Great for fresh salad dressings and marinades. Will use more fresh herbs in future.

Great product, but no spatula!
I bought this as part of someone's christmas present, having received one a couple of years ago. A very good device, but... I chose this one since it was at least GBP 5 less than the other flavour shakers on Amazon (which came in more colours). It turns out that other than the colour options, you pay the extra GBP 5 for the inclusion of a small spatula (it's not included in this one). Since you can pick up a small spatula for less than GPB 1, it seems quite a con, and the recipient appreciated the extra GBP5 I'd saved through buying this one being spent on something else! maybe i should be a rocket scientist ??
nearly didnt buy one of these because of all the negative reviews but im certainly glad i did.it amazes me what rubbish people can write.1) yes you certainly have to shake vigourously to crush things but you dont have to be a weightlifter. 1 clove of garlic in 20 shakes.2) as above it does crush garlic ! ive also done dried chillis , basil , oregano , shallots. the one failure so far was some almonds probably could have done them if id had the time but i was better off putting them in a bag and bashing them.3)as for aligning the arrows , give me a break , yes you can lock it together in several ways but if you just make sure that the black grip all lines up , as on the picture then its always going to be in the right position. you dont need to overtighten it either as i suspect most have done theres a gentle click when the arrows line up.not sure about the plastic cracking , used mine 20 times + and theres no sign of any. only time it leaks is when i open it up ! thats the one annoying bit if you have added oil and perhaps want to taste it then add some more ingredients , you do end up getting oil all over your hands and the shaker.maybe the people who have written bad reviews were expecting it to dice things or crush within 1 or 2 shakes ?no idea , maybe the designs been improved ? but im certainly happy with mine

Works well but a bit fragile
I've had 2 of these now and after about a year of light use both have started to crack on the base where you connect them together. When assembled correctly (making sure the rubber seal is in place) they work well for making simple things like vinaigrettes and pastes but you do need to be vigorous to get a good even mix.

Gute Idee, schlecht umgesetzt

nice idea
this basically performs the same function as a mortar and pestle but is much more fun. The only down side is you can only grind up a little of one thing at a time and I had to replace my first one eventually as the plastic inside cracked due to overuse.
