Reliable and quality
Very nice set. High quality. Took me a minute to learn to read the scale correctly. But easy to use and read once you get the hang of it. Wish I had gotten these a lot sooner

Seem solid and well made, for the price point.
If I had only looked at the instructions I would have sent these back right away as they are for a metric micrometer so I thought that’s what I got. Fortunately I checked and the actual devices were imperial. If you know how to read a micrometer, the instructions will tell you how to calibrate the devices, kind of, but you have to know to use the included calibration pieces which is obvious but it doesn’t mention them. If you don’t know how to read a micrometer don’t expect information from the instructions. You will need to learn elsewhere, but they are more on how to operate them than on how to read them. The actual devices seem sturdy, mine were smooth to operate and easy to calibrate, assuming the calibration pieces are correct. They have a scale all the way to 10’s (10,000ths not “10ths”) as they should, but nothing I’m doing with them requires that much accuracy lol. I tried the 1-2” device on a new brake rotor with a known thickness and it looked accurate enough.

They are accurate
These were bought for occasional home use and it can say for the price and their purpose I'm quite impressed. I measured the standards that came with the kit with known accurate instruments and the standards are accurate. I then checked the micrometers against the standards and they were right on

Works okay
They work ok. Have to constantly check if it moved.

They're not Starrett, but they'll do just fine for most.
These micrometers worked wonderfully. They are indeed very precise and accurate. Repeatability is well under .0001" (one tenth). The only beef I have is the calibration standards. They should have spherically-ground ends, and be accurate! Instead, what they give you is bar shaped "standards" with flat-ground ends, which make it needlessly difficult to locate them between the carbide anvils properly. As far as accuracy, the 1" standard, using the zeroed 0-1" mic measures 1.0006". From there, the 2" standard, using the 1-2" mic, "zeroed" at 1.0006" against the 1.0006" standard measures 2.0009". Don't expect them to be accurately calibrated out of the box. At least with this set, one can discover and adjust for however much inaccuracy there is in the standards, and calibrate the mics accordingly. I have to think that actually supplying accurate, properly shaped standards really wouldn't be that difficult or expensive though, so I'm deducting a star for that. Of course, all of this inaccuracy could very well be due to not having spherical ends on the standards, and as such being so fiddly that I unknowingly never actually did accurately locate them between the anvils. I'll likely end up getting some better standards and update my review accordingly. The build quality (other than the standards) seem excellent. There is some rough finish on the sleeve of the 1-2" mic I received, but not enough to complain about. The ratchet stop works fine, and the thimble has a smooth, fluid action. The lock is precise and does what it's meant to do without complaint. For the price, I'm keeping them.
