Recommended for Goldfish
I truly love this product, my Oranda Gold fish love it as well. Hikari Oranda Gold might be an expensive option over other brands of fish food. When it comes to the health of the fish, this is the best. I had Orandas that were finicky eaters. They contracted fin rot and would always stress out after water changes. I started feeding them Hikari Oranda Gold, and saw benefits like amazing resistance to stress, and increased activity levels. I now cycle 90% of my tank water without my Orandas flipping over due to stress. It took 2 months for the positives to show up. This feed also helped me manage an outbreak of fin rot. The water was medicated offcourse, but their fins healed really fast. Waste is easy to clear as it doesnt disintegrate and turn the water foggy. I recommend soaking the pellets in a container with some tank water 2 mins prior to feeding. This helps the fish process the pellet better by easing uptake. I would like to give a shout out to Vinit Desai, who shipped the Hikari pellets. Amazing delivery as always.

Best pellets out there for your goldfish
My goldfish love this pellets. Colour have become much brighter than before. However this pellets does make the water cloudy. I feed 3 times a day in small amount.

Good for medium sized goldfishes
It's a floating type pellet food. The size of the pellet is medium and will be ok for gold fishes of average size (around 3 to 4 inches or more). It is not good for small or juvenile goldfishes as they may find it to be too large to fit in their mouth.

Top notch diet for Goldies
One of the best foods which I have fed my gold fishes till date! It had really enhanced the colour of my gold fishes and the Oranda ones developed great head jelly! You should definitely go for this one also try Hikari sinking pallets!

Premium nutrition for vibrant and healthy fish
These floating pellets are excellent because they don't cloud the water and my goldfish absolutely love them. Since I started using this food, I've noticed a significant improvement in their energy levels and the brightness of their colors.

My chunky orandas like it
Iโve been alternating between this food (Hikari Oranda gold) with Hikari Lionhead and Hikari koi small pellets for my chunky oranda goldfish. I got them already mature and quite big so I was concerned with finding food that was appropriate to their size while also being mindful of their tendency as oranda goldfish to get tummy issues from floating hard pellets.Size- wise, Iโve found the Hikari oranda gold to be about 3mm, Hikari lionhead to be at about 2mm and the Hikari Koi Small pellets to be about 4mm. As big as my fish are, the 4mm seemed to be the most appropriate and while they do eat it, it seems to be their least favorite. And between the Oranda one and Lionhead one, the oranda one floats and the lionhead one sinks. They are willing to eat both however, the sinking pellets seem to get past them so there is more debris. The floating ones get their attention and they eat it all so I guess I can see why the Hikari oranda gold is for oranda goldfish. They do prefer it. And I have yet to have any issues. All in all, I consider this a staple and their main food however I am always open to trying new foods for them.

Great food -can be soaked before feeding to avoid bloating fancies
I have kept and bred fancy goldfish for years and there is no substitute for hikari floating pellets. The food is clean and high quality. Importantly, you can soak it before feeding, to avoid the bloat that is caused by feeding most dry food to susceptible goldfish and causes them to be unable to regulate their position in the water - floating to the surface and fighting their way back down, due to eating dry food. Hikari, soaked, keeps its shape, does not flake or dissolve, and continues to float. The fish can take a piece of soaked food as easily as a dry one -except the soaked one will be twice the size. There are some fish with air bladder problems that will not be helped by soaked food, if it's not caused by digestion. But many that struggle with water position issues after eating will. The food has a slightly fishy smell, but it goes away when eaten.

My pond goldfish love this stuff - You can almost see them grow.
Read and compare the ingredients to other formulas and you will see this is really rich in protein with first ingredient as fish meal, without a lot of soy or wheat as primary ingredient for spring/ summer feeding. Yes, I feed wheat germ blend in winter, but when the water is warmer I find these floating pellets provide more protein and growth. I add sa bunch of 1" gold fish each year and by the end of the summer they look almost like 2 year olds - amazing. I am guessing this mix was intended for aquarium fish and not pond fish, but I am feeding about 100 goldfish with a 10 oz bag that lasts about a month, at a rate of two times a day.

Probably better than most fish food.
I have three generic goldfish in a 25 gallon tank - it may actually only be a 20 gallon tank but it holds 25 gallons with plenty of room to spare. I've fed these fish multiple types of foods from frozen shrimp to flakes to sinking pellets. I only feed them a pinch of these pellets a day and I suppose it is enough (I hate that there is no set amount to feed fish) because there is never a "feeding frenzy" like I've experienced with other foods. They just come up and casually take a pellet and move on.What I don't like about it is the terrible smell the water has now. The tank really needs to be cleaned every other week or more. And I liked the idea of the color enhancement, but it isn't what I was expecting. All of my fish are bright, vibrant orange, which would be great except that one of them is supposed to be a pale peachy-white with a black spot on its nose and between its eyes up onto its head. He is now fully orange.
