Is it a thin material or fleece?

It’s a very thin material. Nothing like fleece at all. It’s as cheap as the price suggests it’s going to be. It’s a fun jacket for a one day wear... or for the season. You could wash and wear again. Our family just only wears these for the day usually. This year one of the grandkids does likes hers enough to want to wear hers longer. It will hold up for awhile. It’s a lesser quality than what you could find at a store like Walmart or a Target. It’s cheaper than one of those places. If you buy expecting cheap but wearable... you shouldn’t be disappointed. If you’re expecting some kind of “deal” than you’ll be sorely disappointed. It’s not paper... but it’s not really “material” either. Hope that helps.

So why size would be for a 7-8T ?

I purchased the 14-16 years for my child who wears a 14-16. I would guess that a 7-8 would probably be the 8-10 years.

What is the exact poly to cotton ratio?

The hoodie does not say what the ratio is but my child loves it and says it's very comfortable.
