Costs more and worth every penny. This is a very heavy duty hose. I live in Arizona and the sun and cactus spines are tough on my pool backwash hose. I went for the cheapest one last time and it did not last at all. I have not had this very long, but I'm very confident it will last for a good number of years. Update Nov. 2019: I just happened across this old order and thought I would update this review. I've had the hose for 4 years now. I used to roll it up and at least semi-protect when not actively using it for backwashing, but I've gotten lazy and it has been in the Arizona sun for the last couple of years. It is still doing fine and I still completely recommend it. Update October 2021: I just ordered a new hose. The 6 year old stuff is starting to leak. Like I say above, I got lazy a number of years ago and it has been abused in the Arizona sun. Great hose. I just hope the new one is same as the old. I'll update if it is not.

Very high quality - using for pool draining from 1 1/2" pipe. Might be over-kill but should last forever. FYI - Don't recommend storing inside a home - The "gas-off" odor is extremely intense, so would be better if permanently stored outside, which isn't possible where I live in cold weather. I kept smelling a gaseous type odor in my entire basement, traced it back to this one item in a small mechanical room within the basement. So I moved to a garage. Another tip - I needed about 125' so used some sections of 1 1/2" PVC tubing with couplers and hose clamp for the remaining distance. Using this PVC pipe at the end of the line, there is limited pressure and you can just fit the PVC sections together without cementing, take apart for easy storage.

I got this to use as a drain hose for the rv. The rv has a macerater and a smaller hose, but it’s too short to reach my sewer clean out. I hoped this hose would work, but it was difficult to make it work for my use. There’s not a lot of pressure from the pump, so the hose tends to stay flat or kink. I cut it shorter, since I didn’t need it to be 25’, with scissors, and tried again. It was better, but still a pain. Oh well. I’ll just get a regular hose. If you’re going to use this with a stronger pump, it’ll work great. Maybe just letting it lay out in the sun for a bit would help too. It’s a good hose and compact. Didn’t work for me, so I knocked it down a star, but will probably work for you.

So this thing is obviously not cheap, but I purchased a $15 50' hose when I first moved in to the house that has our pool for backwashing. The hose was stretched out but was folded over on itself ONCE along the entire length. When I turned the pump on, this fold quickly turned into a kink, and before I knew what happened the hose split. I decided to take the plunge and spend 4-5 times the cheap version to get one that hopefully would stand the test of time. I have only used it for a few weeks, so can't speak to the longevity of it, but can tell you I will gladly give 5 stars for its perceived durability. This this is HEAVY and HEAVY DUTY. It is a workout getting it stretched out or rolled up, but I don't mind, because to me that means it won't split! I believe this is rated for somewhere around 60 psi? That is much more than my pool pump could ever generate, so like I said I am hoping it will last. Very happy with the purchase overall.

I use the 2” version for pool pump discharge. I needed 1” version for pool cover pump discharge. Previous competitors 2” hoses never lasted much more than 1 season. This was Very tough but heavy. 1” is more manageable for this purpose and less water to possibly freeze. It is winter. I use Banjo hose couplings with hose shank m/f and one male threaded for pump. For clamps I use the clamptite kit with .041” wire. Screw on clamps always leak on flat discharge hoses in my experience. Kit is pricey, reusable and easy after you look at YouTube videos. Then a couple of wraps of electrical tape for the two ends of the wire. Professional permanent results and lasts.

Good quality hose for pool draining. Definitely heavy duty, thick, reinforced. I bought the 100 ft roll. Haven’t noticed any leaks but I have no need to put it under pressure. Just connected to the pump and let er flow. Just made sure there were no kinks along the way.

The most heavy duty hose you can by. the last hose you will ever need. I run over it with my 1 ton Dodge Ram duelly and dont worry about leaks. it is a bit heavy to pull nack and coil up but it will last forever, never burst if a little kink in hose. I can now backwash my pool from the other side of a fence with out having to worry about the hose, going to the street. over 100 feet away. I went through, regular hoses, heavy duty ones and they lasted a season at best. this hose is a beast. loot at the shipping weight. Like I said I run over it with my cars, lawn mover ect. my other hoses i would not even step on.

Just like another reviewer stated mine arrived with holes along the entire length little tiny pinholes 25 to 35 of them and they are perfectly layered with PVC like it happened at the factory. It sprayed everywhere. The first time I ever pressured it up.

Tried it once so far, worked just like my old 14 year old one that split recently. This type is cost effective but is hard to find as my usual pool supply stores didn't have this. Glad I found it at CT!

Used it for my pond over flow

This is real Heavy Duty. Very thick material. I noticed some of the negative reviews are saying it's too heavy to handle. Of course it's heavy, because it's thicker.
