Photron Video Stabilising Shoulder Rig

I bought this to use with a camcorder that I have and I found it excellent. It really is effective in taking the strain off your hands that would otherwise be stretched out and ache within a couple of minutes or so. It does stabilise the video a lot as long as you stand still or turn without any sudden jerks. Good for panning and hands are free to operate camera controls like zooming etc. Very effective and worth at this price. I think it will do a great job till I save enough to buy a Go Pro camera and its attachments. I'm now trying to be Mr.Bean(Mr.Bean's holiday) or the next big indie film-maker or the jerk who goes around filming stuff just for the heck of it. ;)

Good but very light weight.Hardly know how much time it lasts.But the product is good enough for hands free video and using simultaneous focusing.I am using my DSLR and my handicam .

it is ok. it works well with camcorders or compact digital camera with video recording, fixed lenses. For DSLR with changeable lenses. as long zoom lenses a bit un comfortable. For me such person having pot like belly the support is not helping to keep straight. have guide by one hand to keep straight . and other hand get busy with zooming and all. need to get used to with strap under shoulder makes the sense.

For 2000 bucks (1500 if you don't choose COD), you get plenty of stable video. You can use your camera's viewfinder only if you have a small dslr/handycam. For reference I use the GH4 - which this is perfect for because I get to use the camera's excellent viewfinder, instead of relying on a relatively less accurate LCD.

As this was at a deal price of 905, i quickly jumped to checkout.As soon i got it delivered, I knew i had to return it!!Here's Why:-Fully made of PlasticThe lower rest directly gets placed on my tummy; which means, either i breathe OR i keep the camera stable.Left-Right Panning Shots are not precise as the extended mount moves fast and is unreliable.Top-Bottom is Impossible !!Walking... It jumps like crazy.Bottom Line.Buy this if you want to stand at one place with a heavy camcorder OR if you want to take 1st person view shots (without buying a GoPro)For everything else,Get a Steadicam-SG

For the price it is a good value. The camera is more steady than hand-held use.
