FAST!
I bought 2 of these. I use one in an old Dell D620 I made from scrap parts that's been running for 15 years, and another for terminal experiments with Linux Mint.The one in the Dell is dual boot for Windows 7 I use for service calls. It has sped the old laptop up incredibly. I also installed Linux Mint for everyday use.The other one is for creating custom Linux Mint installable ISOs for flash drives for portable or desktop systems.At the price I paid, the speed is great. I've been pounding the daylights out of the Linux drive for weeks. Boot time is fantastic.Since I didn't need a lot of storage for my use 240G served my purposes. I generally shy away from SSDs because they degrade over time depending on the amount of writes and deletions, so in my applications of low disk rewrites they should serve me for a long time.I went with Crucial because of their long history in the memory business. About 8 years ago I specified a Crucial 320G SSD for a friend who wanted to build a new system for his recording studio. At that time it was $340. We mounted the Windows OS on the SSD, but data storage is on a standard HDD mirrored RAID. The state of the art has had quantum leaps since then, but the system is still running strong after 2 Windows upgrades. Since the system allowed, we also installed a 64G Crucial SSD for a cache drive. Considering a cache drive handles a lot of rewrites should bear witness to Crucial products.I have never been disappointed by a Crucial memory product. I still have systems from the early 2000's running as they should.

Great Solid State Drive for the cost.
Excellent solid state drive. Works very well with my Eufy Homebase 3. With the rising costs of storage, this was worth it. I recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a reasonable priced solid state drive.

I forgot how slow Windows runs on an HDD. How did we survive that way?
A friend who was still using a mechanical drive needed an "upgrade". It's been years since I've used a computer with a mechanical drive and I'm amazed at the speed difference this drive has made. It was taking 5 - 10 minutes to boot Win10. Now it's about 30 seconds.One thing worth spending a little more for this drive is that (currently) it uses TCL chips which has a higher expected life than QLC chips used in SSDs that cost a little less than this one.I'd like to comment on using the free Acronis for Crucial cloning software. Once I got it working, it was great.I ran into two problems. Neither was the fault of the Acronis software or Crucial SSD issue, but others upgrading from an HDD may run into it.The system runs so freaking slow that running the clone function from a live Win10 system had me thinking something was broken. The system stalled while examining the source disk. I'm not sure if it would have finished if I gave it more time (I waited an hour), but I'm just not that patient. I had to do a risky manual power down of the system to regain control of the system. Even trying to create the "offline rescue" media on a USB flash drive goes incredibly slow on a HDD system. RECOMMENDATION: if you can create the offline rescue media on another "fast" system. It still takes some time, but it's way faster than trying to do this on a system booted from an HDD. Also use the "advanced" option that allows you to create a Linux based offline rescue USB. This leads to the second problem I hit...The second problem I had was I created the offline rescue USB using the option that used Windows recovery boot system (as opposed to a Linux boot system). I figured I'm cloning a windows system, shouldn't this work well? When I tried to use it, it told me the Windows boot HDD was locked and I needed a Linux based offline recovery drive. I had to go back to the Acronis program to recreate it using that option. As I noted above, IF you're upgrading from an HDD just booting is incredibly slow already. Recreating the recovery USB again just ate up more of my life I'll never get back.Once I booted the Linux basesd offline recovery USB, everything went smoothly. The analysis of the HDD still took some time (I don't recall...10 minutes?). Remember, I waited an hour for an uncompleted analysis trying to do it on a running Win10 system, so that 10 minutes was FAST in comparison. The actual clone of a 175GB of used data took about 30 minutes. Booting from the SSD was flawless.I'm now set up to upgrade from Win10 to Win11 on this system. Well, after a back up.

Brought my old HP back to life
Dropped this into an older HP laptop that was crawling and now it runs like new. Boot times are snappy, apps launch instantly, and overall responsiveness is night-and-day better. Installation was simple, and the system recognized it right away. If youโre trying to squeeze more life out of aging hardware, this upgrade is a no-brainer. Totally worth it.

Decent for storage if you only care about read speed.
Works for storing data where read speed is more important than write speed. Think movies or games.Pros:Decent price per GB.Good read speeds, up to 500 MB/s as advertised.Cons:Writes are slow for a solid state drive. Around 50 MB/s best case, one big file. I often average single digit MB/s if writing a lot of small files. Seems like a it should be faster, but I guess you get what you pay for.A tale of two drives:1. Replaced a 5400rpm HDD in an old laptop. Boots up quickly, plenty responsive for a 3rd gen i7 machine.2. Added it to a modern 12th gen i7 machine to hold VMs. I got suspicious when it took a while to copy the 80 GBs of VMs to the new drive. But, the VMs booted up and ran fine.One time it did freak out and stop responding until I restarted. This was during a lot of random writes from parallel file downloads and response times got into the 3000ms range before it just locked up. I don't try to run VMs from it anymore and I wouldn't use it as the boot drive on a modern system.

An inexpensive upgrade for an aging laptop when the hard disk drive started failing! Made the switch from Windows 10 to Linux. Computer runs much faster with less โMicrosoft bloatโ and Linux operating system! It took about 5 minutes to swap the drives. Easy-peasy!

Works great in my fat PS2!
I have a "fat" Playstation 2 with the original network/HDD adapter modded to accept SATA, and the latest OPL beta that can work with exfat-formatted drives. (The kit for it is here on Amazon, I highly recommend it.) I decided to upgrade from the old laptop drive I'd been using to this SSD, and so far it works great. It isn't a miraculous level of change, but there's definitely a noticeable speed boost, especially in OPL with tons of disc images & disc case art installed.
