Edifier Exclaim Bi-Amped 2.0 Speaker System (e10), Silver

I researched the heck out of this speakers until I finally decided to purchase them. I am happy I did. This are by far the best speakers for your computer or MP3 player. Don't let the price fool you, these are incredible sounding speakers. The Edifier's Exclaim e10's come well packaged and included the speakers, stereo mini-plug cord, speaker connector cord, and AC connecter. While funky looking, they feel well made and the bottoms are covered in felt (nice). The bass drivers are enclosed in a rubber molded ball, while the main drivers are enclosed in a metallic material. Hook up was easy and quick. I plugged the e10's to my Retina iMac and opened iTunes. All my music are in MP3 format at 320 kbps converted from 24 bit FLAC files.First up was Whitney Houston's beautiful "I Will Always Love You". The e10's have incredible clarity capturing Houston's vocals so clear that you can almost hear her breathing during the first A cappella section. Next up was Alicia Keys "If I ain't got you". Again, the e10's flawlessly reproduced Keys powerful and emotional vocals without a sweat. Here is also where the e10's displayed how lack of a sub-woofer affects a bass driven song. My Creative Inspire T3130 speaker system with sub-woofer captured the deep, gut wrenching, bass without any issues. The e10's could not compete here, but with a little adjustment in my equalizer window, the bass was tight enough and blended nicely with the clear mid-tones and highs. If stomach pounding bass is your thing, you need to skip these speakers. But oh the clarity!"Chain of Fools" by Aretha Franklin was up next and the e10's again delivered. The guitar rift in the beginning was so clear that it felt like it was right there in front of me! The bass was nice, tight and well balanced. Aretha's vocals came in loud and crisp in all their glory with no distortion. Wow! Okay, now some classic rock. The Allman Brothers "Black Hearted Woman" was the next challenge. Heavy in instrumentation with the blazing guitars of Duane Allman and Dickey Betts and a high intensity drum solo, this was a test! BAM! The e10's delivered. Duane Allman's Guitar ripped across the speakers with distortion-free clarity while Gregg Allman's raspy vocals came loud and clear with no conflicts. The drum solo and congas came through spectacularly with clear stereo separation. Finally, a little Stevie Wonder with his funky "Higher Ground". Here the e10's had no problem delivering the rhythmic bass and Stevie's vocals sound nice and clean. These speakers can crank!So, what is my final verdict? If you want the best sounding and near-audiophile quality computer speakers, this is a no-brainer: get these now! If you would rather hear bass heavy, gut pounding sound, buy the Creatives, Bose, or any of the other alternatives. But these are an incredible value. I would have paid $200 - $300 for these babies, but for $75? I'm buying another set for my wife!

I have lots of experience with high end audio devices of all sorts, including speakers. These speakers have MULTIPLE audio drivers. The proper term "audio driver" is the crossover system which sends/converts specific ranges of frequencies to the proper speakers in an array of speakers within one cabinet. In this case however they aren't in a specific cabinet, they're in a special design meant for desktop use. Before I go any further I want to make something abundantly clear; these are not the best speakers I've ever heard, however the reviews here are clearly from people who have no idea what they're talking about. These speakers CAN get very loud, boast phenomenal bass, have great soundstage, produce crisp clean highs, project powerful mids, and overall sound like a wonderful set of speakers. These are very RAW speakers though, meaning they will not try to make something sound good which doesn't sound good from the get-go. You need a good audio source if you want to expect the most of these. That means a high quality audio file with a high bit rate, a computer or phone that supports an adequate sample rate, and a configuration that puts out well balanced audio. I have these hooked up to a great soundcard on my computer, and my phone has a Dolby Atmos DAC in it. Furthermore, these speakers have volume buttons on them, but work more like power values and should be turned at least to half way to expect ample amplitude of all frequencies. What is also to note is their purpose. They're designed as desktop speakers and are tuned to such; They wont fill a large room with rich sound, they won't magically sound good wherever you put them, they can't make people go nuts outdoors, and they wont impress you if you're looking for PA level sound in a compact package (which is impossible). On the other hand, if you sit at a desk, align them to head height with proper distance from eachother, put them on a proper surface like a hollow ported box or foam padded shelves(preferably with a wall behind them), and play an audio file that wasn't ripped off youtube, the focused audio will sound amazing for the size they are. I have mine setup in the best way imaginable, and when turned up they physically shake my chest. Now I don't expect most people to achieve that with these, but simply plugging them into an iPhone with CD quality music should give you about 70% of their aptitude, presuming you're sitting at a desk. So the most important thing you need to know is that these are NOT bookshelf speakers NOR are they meant for a home theater. These are for a desktop computer. If you want them for a desktop computer then BUY THESE. You won't be disappointed. If you want them for literally ANYTHING else, you will more than probably be disappointed. For a kid to have in their room they're also great, but they might be a little expensive and will probably not be properly appreciated. All in all, I'm not going to give them a 5/5 for audio quality because I have heard better desktop audio, but I do think the reviewers severely messed something up because I have literally no idea how they came to such grim conclusions. I've not heard anything like this in this price range, especially considering they're often on sale for 70 or 80 dollars. And if anyone else had before, then they wouldn't be buying these would they?... No, they'd be using what they already own, or would be comparing them to such speakers.Personal hint, buy cable organizer bins, set these atop of those. The bass will reverberate in them like a ported speaker riser, and they'll bring the speakers to head height. Set them equidistant from you and themselves and point them straight, as if to shoot past each of your ears. Then properly equalize them using your sound-cards software (if you have one). If you want literally the best internal audio card, then look at the SoundBlaster AE-5. If you use ANY equalizer just remember not to go crazy with any values. Doing such will severely degrade your audio quality and increase risk of speaker blow out.

As noted by others, this is a good value speaker. Was looking to replace my old blown desktop speakers. Was tempted to buy a $400 set from Polk Audio, which were highly regarded. But thinking that I may pack a set of computer speakers for travel, the much lighter weight of the Edifiers would not take half of the weight allowed in a suitcase for air travel. I knew that there would be a small penalty in overall sound over some other expensive models - was willing to accept that. But expected good enough sound, seeing that it was an editor's pick from PC mag.These odd shaped Edifiers are rather tall, but they have a small footprint. Bass is not overwhelming, but it is accurate. It is what I expected from a 2.0 system that is offered at a very reasonable cost. Highs are clear enough, though may be more accurate on speakers that would cost several times more. They do not have the somewhat artificial sound of the Bose offerings.Have noted that some people wanted more volume from this model, while others have been quite satisfied with the volume.My results have varied. For example, when listening to Youtube videos, there are some that I wished for more available volume. Other videos were quite loud. On other webpages that had sound, sometimes I would need to turn down the volume, while others sounded more natural.Speaking about volume adjustment, there are two buttons on the side of the speaker for adjusting it: one for turning it up, and one for turning it down. But there is no indication of what it is set for. Not like a dial that it numbered 1 through 10. You just do not know if you have set the volume at max, or something lower, without pushing the volume buttons and listening for what happens.Am satisfied with my selection.

Bass is exaggerated at higher volumes. Sounds good at low volume which is great in an office. The design is good, they are bigger than i realized... Which is not bad, just surprising. If you like things even remotely loud don't get these. They are computer speakers for an office. You don't crank it up at work, you try not to annoy people next to you. Not sure i like them yet. I just replaced aging monsoon electrostatic speakers which were much more transparent but crackling. Hard to switch from something familiar.UPDATE: months later and they sound great. They may be the perfect office speaker.

I have owned and used these speakers almost daily for 5 months now and they are the best speakers I've ever owned. Listening to music through them is an experience on its own.I hear frequencies I didn't even know existed. I can't even listen to music from other speakers anymore. These speakers are so good I just want to shout it off the top of a mountain in the hopes that people everywhere hear it and buy a pair for themselves.I would estimate the quality to price ratio to be around 3:1 which means you're getting the absolute best value you can possibly get for your dollar. Also as a broke college student, the low price tag is very attractive.These speakers will change your life. Buy them now.

Son buenas bocinas de escritorio, si no tienes con que compararlas sonaran muy bien. Tengo unas Bose Companion 2 Serie Iii que compre hace 9 años y aunque le suba no se distorsiona y suena con buena fidelidad; las Edifier e10 si le subes mucho el volumen los Tweeters llegan a ser molestos por los agudos.Honestamente me guié por las buenas reseñas pero no son tan fabulosas.
