Good desiccant packets
Very happy with these little packets. I use them to keep 3d printer filament dry. A couple of tips if you haven't used these before:They can be re-used. You just need to dry them out after they turn dark.Don't try to dry them out in the microwave. Bad things happen. I've tried various settings and times and just haven't had good results. As a rule of thumb, if the packets start puffing up like balloons, you are heading for a bad result.Toaster oven works great. I put them on a piece of foil, turn the heat all the way down (200 degrees on my unit), put the packets on the foil, and let it heat for an hour. I believe it would work equally well in a regular oven but haven't tried it. I think a few degrees lower would work even better but 200 is as low as my unit allows. For best results, you need the package containing the desiccant packets and whatever you are trying to keep dry to be air-tight. If it's semi-air-tight, the packets will still work but not for as long. So for example, if you buy a container that has rubber seals around the lid, put your stuff in and check in a couple of days, things may look okay. But if it's nearly air-tight instead of actually air-tight, your packets will still change colors as the moisture slowly seeps in.None of this is an issue, the packets do what they are supposed to do, it's just things I learned while using them. When used properly (put into an air-tight container with whatever you want to keep dry while they are orange) they work really well.

works well, difficult to recharge
These work well but are difficult to recharge without special equipment. They're too easy to overheat which makes the outer wrapping stick and bind to neighboring units or degrade and develop holes.

Only thing I would recommend - include a piece of paper or printed instructions ...
Only had them for a few days now but can tell that they're going to do very well. I placed one packet in a closed jar with "almost-dried", dehydrated sliced apples. (I didn't leave them in the dehydrator long enough but jarred them anyway, so when I ate them, they were more leathery than crisp.) After two days with the dessicant, they were crispy! They worked for me. I haven't had any experience yet with their changing color - that will be in time. Only thing I would recommend - include a piece of paper or printed instructions on the mylar bag that tells you 1) How to recharge the product, and, 2) What the contents colors indicate; so that for someone in the family who didn't read the product info or for those to whom I give away some of the packets, would know what these little gems are all about. (I copied the Product Information from the Amazon site and printed them out. I cut the paper down and inserted into the mylar bag.) Thanks for a great product Dessicare Folks!

THEY ARE NOT RECHARGEABLE
Horrible. The bag claims they are reusable, but gives no instructions as to how to recharge the packets. The Desiccare company doesn't even have recharging instructions on their website. If you "Google" instructions as someone else suggested, you will get a variety of answers that are all dependent on brand, size and composition of your packets etc. In other words, your mileage will vary. My attempts to recharge my packets per the wisdom of the "interwebs" ended up melting the flimsy plastic bags.Furthermore, the packets don't seem to last long. I use them in a fire-safe and they quickly go green in a week's time. It should be noted, I don't live in a humid area. I live in Las Vegas. We're bone dry.Essentially these are single use packets, unless you want to cut them open and make your own packets which is super inconvenient and defeats the purpose of buying packets. I will not buy this product again. And I will avoid Desiccare company.

Some of the silica comes out of the holes
Problem is the silica is very fine and comes out of the packs. It would be 5 stars if they were beads that didn’t fit through the perforated holes.

Great product at a reasonable price
Excellent item for storing clothing. After discarding an entire unit of moldy items stored in an offsite climate-controlled environment, I needed a solution to prevent further issues. We tried out these packets in totes for a recent move and were very pleased. After a very rainy week, I checked many of the packed totes to ensure that no moisture had seeped in. The color of these little packets let me know which totes had issues. I simply aired out the items and repacked with a new packet. All of my clothing, shoes & handbags arrived safe and dry.

These packets do not work as described.
These packets do not work as described. There is absolutely no change in color from the orange, even after suspending several in a sealed jar of water for a week--so no indication that they are doing their job.---Addendum to my initial review statement: I contacted the Seller (Interteck) by phone at the time of the above review, left a message with a real person for the manager, and never received a call-back. Pursued using these pckts in dehydrated foods. The used packets turned black (not green), and after 12 hours (!!!!) in convection oven at the instructed 240 degrees, only 1/6 of the packet granules in each pckt are orange, so are NOT re-activated as promised. I have yet to receive a response from the Seller. Completely deceptive description of product, and unacceptable Seller behavior. I would have saved a LOT of money by purchasing one-use packets than using electricity for 12 hours for no results.
