NEED A GREAT BLACK POWDER RAM ROD?
Purchased as a back-up or range shooting ram rod for my flintlock. Very freliable and plenty strong for a day at the range, or carrying for re-enactments. It is very easy to get to the correct length with a simple tubing cutter; and finishing off with a bit of a dab of epoxy cement. While I prefer traditional wood ram rods for authenticity at re-enactments, this rod is much faster. Highly recommend to try one for all around shooting needs.

Good Range Rod
Used it when the wooden Ramrod on my flintlock broke just enough to be too short. This will definitely hold up better and from the few loadings I have done with it I feel no signs it can break on me and it provides just enough length for it to work for me. Works great to act as a cleaning rod for my gun as well.

Made longer than expected
You will have to cut it back to fit your smoke pole but other than that it works great durable and dependable

I screw my CVA Knuckle Saver palm device onto that and it works great! I use a brass cone type rod guide ...
I purchased this fiberglass ram rod for my Euroarms 1861 Springfield rifled musket. It of course was too short so I extended it with a pinned and glued thread adapter for the open end. I screw my CVA Knuckle Saver palm device onto the other end that comes already on the Ram Rod and it works great! I use a brass cone type rod guide at the muzzle as well. The ram rod with the CVA Knuckle Saver, Brass Ram Rod Guide 7/16" inside diameter brass tip (threaded), and .58 Caliber Button Jag are in the pictures below.

Great for ramming a ball down a barrel,
Muzzle loader barrels are closed off at one end.This helps protect the shooter from bits of burning powder.After expending hours making your ram rod pretty, you really don't want to actually use it.Make or buy a range rod. Sure I could nave made one out of a dowel but I had 50 buck amazon gift card burning a hole in my digital pocket.

Size Matters
I ordered this ramrod because the description says 11/32 inches diameter which is the diameter of the ramrod used in the thimbles of my friend's CVA .45 rifle. Turns out the description is not correct. It does not fit the thimbles on a CVA .45 cal rifle. It actually measures 12/32" according to the micrometer, and it is too thick to go into the thimbles.It's a nice ramrod that probably fits the .50 caliber and larger rifles that are popular today. But if you really need that 11/32 inch one that they're describing on the Amazon listing, this isn't for you.
