It depends upon the angle of the hose. if the pump can continue to pump 1200 gal per hour, then there will be no problems. but if the ground level goes down hill, then there could be a problem with the pump trying to pull that amount of water up hill with 10 feet additional hose. for the sluice to work, you need 1200 gal of water to effectively operate it. I don't rely solely on the pump. If its not moving the material fast enough, I urge it along by dumping a little bit more water down the box with a 5 gallon bucket. .02

No, a highbanker is not a dredge because it does not have suction to suck up gravel or other gold bearing material. Instead, you feed material into the top by hand.
