These lights are incredibly easy to install, as long as you do NOT use the template in the assembly instructions! The screws do need to be 3.25 inches apart, but the template measures 3.75"! Also, the on/off switch picture on the back of the light where the switch is misleading. Since the button has a rubber cover, you can't tell if it is in or out, on or off. The only way to actually tell is to put you hand over the solar cell and see if the light comes on or not.Don't forget to make sure the light is ON before mounting it.

These would be perfect for the deck if they just last a little longer. I bought another brand which has an almost blue light which I can not stand. Essentially the same light so easy to switch them out, my wife just thought they grew on her. She had no idea I switched them. I would recommend a template for drilling the holes, because just being off slighty will cause problems. Battery is replaceable so when charge holds less and less you can replace the battery. We will see how they hold up.

I absolutely love these lights. I ordered a set ages ago and one of them just stopped working. I could have replaced the rechargeable battery, but I opted to buy a new set since mine are so old. I leave them out year round, and in WI we have some cold winters. The lenses have yellowed, but that's the only sign of age. These lights have not stopped shining in over 5 years, possibly longer than that. The light is not obnoxiously bright, just enough to light the stairs on the deck which is where mine are placed. I highly recommend these. My neighbor liked them so much he ordered a whole batch of them to illuminate his pool deck both on the interior of the deck fencing and the exterior.

I just installed these 4 solar lights on my back deck last week. They are not very bright. I was hoping to have enough light at night so I wouldn't have to leave the outdoor light on all night. It is really dark in our back yard since there are only trees. A few days later I looked when I was up at 3am and a few weren't not working at all. Then another day later none were lit up at 4 am. Some only last a few hours and the lights were not bright at all, just a dull low yellowish light then nothing. I asked to return and returned them this week and they issued me a credit already.

these are the best little lights. We have them on the railings around the deck which always has a little light so you can see where you are going. also put a few low down on tree trunks next to the driveway. We unhooked them from their little screws in the winter, and took them right out to original places in the spring. We took the solar batteries out for the winter, then put them in a little charger we have that plugs into an outlet. when charged, we put batteries back in them, for the summer. the sun will continue charging them til fall when we bring them in again. We live in the midwest with severe winters, but my friend lives in arizona and leaves them in place year round. Highly recommend. they come on when dark and go off when daylight arrives.

I am very pleased with the lights! The lights give a nice soft glow to the fence (we have them at every other post along the back perimeter).The only downside is that the mounting holes are too wide to fit a standard 4x4 post - we had to attach a wider piece of wood onto the post then mount the lights to that.I am purchasing another set to put along the remainder of our fence (sides)!

Easy to install and beautiful! Only disappointment is that 1 light out of the 4 does not work. It barely lights up and only stays lit for 2 hours despite being in direct sunlight all day. Wish the company would just replace that 1 light instead of me having to purchase 4 more again because I really do need all 4. Otherwise, GREAT product! Lights up small seating area around our deck giving off a soft, cozy feel.

This is my second purchase of this item of the previous four has lasted through two winters. I never removed them from my fence for 2 years and they're still going strong but I will be removing them at the end of the summer so they can last long but I do highly recommend. The lights are yellow so since I had to replace all the ones with the white light everything blends together now. I also like the fact that you push the button instead of sliding to turn them on.I do highly recommend my yard looks so pretty.
