Happy with the Shade
Bought this item to block out sunlight and add privacy to my room. I am a disabled woman and hanging regular blinds was out of the question, so I purchased this vinyl black shade for the ease of installing. It arrived in good condition. My only battle with this shade was trimming it to fit the window. Beware; You're going to really need a tool knife or a cutting tool that can cut through the vinyl and plastic weight at the bottom of the shade. Unfortunately, I only had a kitchen knife and I was cutting and sawing for a good 15 minutes before getting the shade trimmed to fit properly. So, already worn out...I had to reach up over my head standing on a step stool and firmly apply and press the shade into place. Luckily, the adhesive is super powerful and it takes only 2 minutes or less and the shade is holding on very strong. You will have to carefully and patiently adjust some of the creases in the shade because they get pushed in or out while installing them. But they reshape nicely. The two clips that come with the shade are a sturdy hard clear plastic and they hold on to the shade when you need to let some light back in and the clips do not fall or lose their place. Overall, a very good product for simple privacy, sunblocking, at a good price for the value. I've used paper shades before and they work well too, but they don't last too long bc of the material. These are vinyl and the plastic is going to last I would say up to a year or two if they are used properly. Just be prepared & have the proper trimming tools to cut through the plastic safely.

Works well
Great shade to darken your room. It says to use a utility knife, which I did but it was difficult to cut a straight line. I had to saw back and forth quite a bit. The ends look jagged. Fortunately you can’t see it. Sticks well to the window frame. The two clips included let you adjust to different lengths. I used it in my bedroom so no one sees it. I don’t think I would use it though in a room where company would see it unless you didn’t have to use the clips. It would be good for a temporary shade if you just moved into a new apartment or home until you were able to purchase permanent blinds or curtains.

Does what it's supposed to
I've had this for a short amount of time, but so far so good. Really easy to put up, blocks a fair amount of light, enough for my needs at least. Hopefully the glue from the strip stands the test of time. I do have to say that the clips are very fragile and brittle, one of them snapped the moment I tried to pinch the shade, so had to take a star off for that. Otherwise, seems like a good product considering the cost, etc.

Easy installation
These blinds are great. I got tired of replacing my old ones everytime my kids broke them. They fit perfectly it gets dark in mY front room. It should definitely help with the heat in the summer. They are very sturdy as long as you take your time folding them. They are stick holding sticky even after my kids have pulled on them

NIce for the Price
If you're looking for a quick, easy-to-install fix, this works beautifully. They weren't hard to trim and the adhesion is very strong. I've had mine hanging for a couple of months and they're not going anywhere. I do wish I had splurged on the corded model because they are hard to raise. The paper is thin enough that it crinkles and doesn't always accordion back into place easily and the plastic clips are flimsy and cheap. I'm planning to buy some bar magnets to replace the plastic clips. I think that will help hold the blinds when I put them up. Putting the blinds up is an art form but once you get that down, it's not bad. And despite the cheap cost, they do look really sharp when they're lowered. I have the white and they've very light-resistant. Overall, a good decision for me.

Not the shade that the product rating is based on!
Based on the reviews, their dates, and the pictures included, I believe the average rating is based on the corded version that is no longer available. Major bait and switch. This shade was a total waste of money. If you are looking for a shade that you can open each morning and close in the evening, this is not what you are looking for. It’s a piece of thin vinyl folded accordion-style with a strip of adhesive at one end and a piece of plastic at the other to give it structure. There are 2 plastic alligator clips included to pin the shade open. I also use those to pin the bottom of the shade to the piece at the bottom of the window that you use to lift the window open; otherwise it will hang there not covering the window. In order to open the shade, I have to start at the bottom and grab each section to fold it. If I just lift, it just drapes over. There isn’t any structure to make things fold into place. Then I have to climb up on a footstool to clip the shade into place. There’s no great way to do this, it always feels a little precarious. To add to the hassle, this type of clip is prone to shooting off in any direction if it doesn’t grab correctly, which means another round trip on the foot stool. It’s not a good looking item, so it’s not something you would really want to look at every day.For the money, there are moreattractive ways to seal off a window you no longer want light to ever come through.cons:Opening the shade takes closer to a minute+ instead of close to a second like mostHas to be clipped closed if you are using close to the full lengthpros:Easy to installBlocks light

Make sure you do a line and get it straight.
These work great in my sunroof. It is metal and I don't have to worry about putting holes in it. Easy to put up.
