How much water and washing liquid do you need to use on each load please.

A cap full of washing liquid. Water about an inch above the bottom of the white inner drum. However, we found it wasn't great as a washer due to effort and leaks. Works far better as a dryer after hand washing,before hanging clothes up to dry fully

Is this the avalon bay eco spin? Good for drying clothes?

Sorry I don't know what the avalon bay eco spin is. This is like a big salad spinner and is not one of my better purchases and I would not recommend it at all.

How long does one have to crank their soiled socks and scarves circularly for a satisfactory clean?

I found this to be a thoroughly unsatisfactory product. It merely spins things around - it doesn't wash them, or even effectively wet them, or dry them to any extent. Washing by hand is far more effective and less pointlessly exhausting. It really is a dud device. I don't know how it gets 3 stars. I would give it minus 5 stars considering I had to pay postage to return it.

I am a sneaker restorer - would this be a suitable size for sneakers/trainers?

If you only restore small size trainers then possibly yes otherwise I would say no. The inside basket is tapered slightly and it also depends on how much water you want out of the trainers. I can't get much water out of the clothes even after a lot of hard work spinning it. Think large size salad spinner. I would advise spending a few more pounds and getting something better.
