If I could give this 6 stars, I would. IT'S TWENTY BUCKS! It has a strong aluminum case - there is no plastic anywhere. It tracks instantly with no delay. I play bass - it tracks my low B (or in my case A#) the moment I pluck the string. Others say it hesitates string to string, but I didn't notice any delay. Small footprint - I have mine velcroed to my rack. The display is cool looking and super-intuitive. Besides the LED's which any tuner has, the display shows notes in a blue-gray when out of tune and turns green when a note value is reached. It comes in a really slick faux-leather case with a magnet seal! Did I mention that it's $20?? It is so nice to find a great deal these days - this tuner keeps up with any other tuner on the market. I play in several bands and each guitarist has a different (way more expensive) style tuner. This one is as fast or faster than any other I've seen - it really is instantaneous. Mine looks just as cool as any of them, and it tracks even faster than my expensive Korg rackmount - which is now for sale. it cost $20!! I LOVE IT - You will too! A couple notes which could be either positive or negative depending on your application: The LED's are insanely bright. I used a piece of blue masking tape over LED's which makes them perfect. With the tape, there is plenty of indication, without blinding me or the people close to the stage. It has NO BATTERY - You need 9V DC power which is NOT INCLUDED. I love this fact, as I have a multi-power supply in my rack, and dozens of 9v wall warts around - but some might not. It might be an anomaly with mine, but the description here and the instruction manual show the 9v power input as center negative and sleeve positive - This is not the case for mine! I verified with my multimeter, mine is center-positive. Luckily, there was no damage to the unit - it just wouldn't turn on until the polarity was correct. Using my pedal power supply (a cheap knockoff), introduced hum into my system. Use a decent wall wart or otherwise filtered power supply.

This pedal works phenomenally! Works for both guitar and bass. I play the bass in a band and I use this pedal on my effects board. It's very small which is great if you don't have a lot of real estate on your board. About an inch and a half wide. The switch doesn't take too much force to actuate which is great when you're not wearing shoes. It's made out of metal and built like a tank. I don't have to worry about damage at all when I stomp on it. When tuning, it's very responsive and accurate. I'm able to tune in mere seconds with this pedal. I detuned my bass to low A and the pedal was still able to accurately tune it. If I had thicker strings then I could go lower and the pedal could probably still pick up what I'm playing. When engaged, it cuts off the rest of the chain and effectively turns into a mute pedal. This is great to use if you need to talk to your band mates but your rig has some feedback or noise. Bottom line: Do you need a tuner that doubles as a mute switch but only have $20 to spend? Look no further because this is the pedal you want!

*UPDATE* - The seller reached out to me with concerns for my satisfaction on this pedal. While I don't require them to make anything right, as I'm still happy with the tuner, especially for the price, and it's still usable, I'm upping my review from 3 stars to 4 because of their effort. I'm still happy with the tuner since I have to keep replacing my Snark tuners because they eventually break...this cost roughly the same as two of those. The tuner works great and is easy to read. Unfortunately, it's a tone sucker. I noticed a significant loss when it was in the chain. It's still on my board, but I took it out of the chain, so I have to unplug from my starting point to plug into the tuner. I like how it works, otherwise. I don't consider it a waste of money... I'm hoping it lasts longer than the headstock tuners that I've had to replace...a lot!

This is a well built pedal, no question about it. The foot switch/button is smooth, positive and quiet. This is a silent pedal when not activated so it also serves as a handy mute feature for anything past the tuner. Accuracy is spot-on in accordance with my Korg tuner (Y-splitter with the two side-by-side), the Donner matches approximately 1 cent accuracy - this is more than sufficient for ANY gigging or recording that I ever plan to do. The bottom of the pedal includes nice rubber pads that keep the pedal in place on hard surfaces, yet they're thin enough that Velcro/hook-and-loop will protrude enough to mount to a board with Velcro without having to remove the rubber feet - while this seems like a minor thing, IMO this is huge and I wish more pedal manufacturers did this. The case is super tough (metal) and the surface has a nice matte finish which reduces reflection and glare from bright lighting - again this seems like a minor feature but it makes a big difference in the real world and it goes to show that Donner has thought through EVERY detail of this pedal. And I have found that what is apparent on the outside is consistent with the attention to detail given to the inside. Of course as with most pedals it does not come with a DC power supply but if you're reading pedal reviews you probably already know this :) and you probably also have a variety of workarounds. I prefer a battery clip snap connector anyway (search "Mr. Power 9V Battery Clip Converter 2.1mm 5.5mm" - they're $3ea) or just chaining another connector on my board's DC power supply, no biggie. I don't understand why some people complain about this - powering a pedal isn't complicated or expensive. In fact, I appreciate pedal manufacturers keeping prices low while allowing ME to decide how to power the thing anyway. The ONLY potential downside is the brightness of the LED, particularly the red, it's borderline blinding (the pics don't begin to illustrate it :)) The LCD display is awesome, lots of useful indicators in there that help bring you to tune quickly but in low light conditions the red LED is overpowering; in low lighting I can't even read the display until the green LED kicks in - at which time I don't need to see the LCD display screen. I may dim it with some tape to take the bright edge off - and of course mine may be an exception but I thought I'd share just the same. Overall this is a minor issue and doesn't take away from the awesomeness of this pedal. IMO it's worth every dime, it's WAY better built than its competitors in the price range and it performs at least as good as (if not notably better than) other tuners I have that cost 2x as much or more. It's hard to imagine regretting this purchase, I plan to get one for each amp even though I don't have pedal boards for each amp. At this price I think everyone should have one sitting on/near every amp.

I have been looking at tuner pedals for a few months and finally pulled the trigger on buying this Donner pedal. I have only used this pedal a few times, but my first impression is that it is a good pedal for a great price! There is no noticeable white noise when it is not active and it kills the signal completely when it is activated. The sturdy metal construction makes me feel secure and it takes up very little space on the stage. The LED screen is very bright and I love the fact that it changes to all green when you are in tune. I really like this feature because it means that I can just run down my strings looking for green lights instead of focusing on a little single light or an imitation needle moving to the middle. It is should be notated that this pedal does not have an option for a 9V battery and you must buy a separate power supply. If you get more that one pedal, I would recommend a daisy chain style adapter. I have purchased or downloaded a number of tuners over the last 14 years and this one is easiest to use!

Tuning inaccurate in general, but would also do things like say it is an in tune A and then flip to being an in tune D. Also has a really loud buzz when it’s supposed to be muting.

Great pedal and value for the price. Easy to use and the LED is very large. For the money and the price ease of use definitely recommend.

I'm glad I got this little pedal. It's tiny so it doesn't take up a lot of space on my board. The LED is bright and large. It can easily be read from a good distance. I got this pedal because I got tired of my Snark picking up the vibrations from my bassist and drummer while I'm tuning. I also use it as a mute from time to time. Not during songs, it won't act like Buckethead's arcade button mute, but If I need to adjust some setting or change cables, muting from my board is convenient. Now, it's not perfect. It is a little slow. The top LEDs are so bright that in a dark room they are a little overbearing and can make the display a little hard to read. I thought about opening it and putting a small resistor on it, but I really don't want to mess with it. It's not that bad. I'd knock a little off the stars if I could, but I don't think it deserves a 4. Maybe a 4.5. To address people's problems with hum during use, it's possible they have a faulty unit. It's probable that they have some sort of signal leak or faulty wiring. I have a rather extensive board and have the tuner at the beginning of my chain and it's perfectly quiet when muting. I was curious if they had active pickups, but I don't see why that would matter in the least. I'm using a One Spot power supply on it. No hum even when everything is cranked.
