Organic Castor Bean Oil Organic castor bean oil contributes a luxurious lathering quality to soap, due to ricinoleic acid, which makes up around 90% of its fatty acid composition. The structure of ricinoleic acid, distinguished by a kink and a hydroxyl group within its unsaturated fatty acid chain, gives it a unique characteristic. This distinctive configuration boosts the oil's polarity, converting it into a humectant with increased viscosity and superior lathering capabilities. Only soaps with special chemicals do that. It doesn’t really have a smell. Very gentle and my hands feel clean after using it. Did not irritate my sensitive skin.
