I've been using this 3M Earplugs for two years now. I was introduced about this product through Sandeep Maheshwari's meditation video. Initially I ordered it for my studies but now I mainly used as a sleep aid apparatus. I have sleep of a cat. My sleep is so light that even slight noice is enough to wake me up. I tried using "sleep music" (including fan voice). Don't get me wrong. It did help but I was still paranoid. The countless sleepless nights reduced my concentration and I couldn't focus on my studies. I started using earplug for meditation and studies. Then I thought why shouldn't I use it when I sleep? And I did. It did increase my sleep quality. I have secured 1st rank in my graduation. Initially using earplug was little uncomfortable for me but I got used to it. Pros: It is miraculous product for those who are light sleepers like me. It does increase your sleep quality and will prevent you from waking up in mid night from trival noices. It is made up of foam and hence comparatively softer than other Earplugs in market. Cons: It is made up of foam which is porous in nature. It does accumulate microbes from environment. The ear-fluid and sweat support growth of microbes/germs on surface of earplug. So if you don't carefully handle it, you won't be able to use it multiple times. But even if you maintain hygiene and sanitize your hand before application, it still cannot be used for more than 15 days. I have tested it. Used hand sanitizer every time I plug it in my ear but still after month or so, I got ear infection. So no matter how you handle it, after few weeks, you have to throw it. So I replace it every 15 days. I am not supposed to use it even for 15 days as it is "use and throw" product but because I'm from middle class family, I can't afford to do that. But I would say you can use it for 15 days (maximum) if you maintain hygiene and handle it with utmost care (place it in sterilize box/bottle). Thanks for reading.

Effective enough , I am using it for the first time so not show me background of noise cancellation. I found this product pretty welling blocking out songs specially crowd and other noise but doesn't work for cars and motorcycles. Over all the product is good and serves way better of its price.

Good ones. Easy to use. Comfortable in the ears. Provide enough noise protection. It can be reused. It's a foamy material so it can be adjusted into size you want.

I love these earplugs. Thanks to these I can sleep with my window open, or my bedroom door open and not be disturbed by early morning noises outside/inside the house. An absolute must-have if you are in the same situation. The only problem is they become all soft and useless after about two weeks of usage, give or take a few days. So, technically yes, they are reusable, but only to some extent. Been using them for 4 months, and I'm already on my 6th pair. Tried my best to reuse each one as much as I could, but after two weeks they become so soft that they decompress immediately, so you can't fit them in your ear. Not sure about the purpose of the cord provided with each pair, but it just leads to me pulling them out of my ears while sleeping, so I snip the cord and make them wireless :D The noise cancellation is excellent, so long as you're not hearing truck horns 10 feet away or something - for mild to medium background noises, these work pretty well (fan noise, ambulance siren in the distance, someone washing dishes a little further away, or your neighborhood mosque's morning prayers - it can cut out these sounds well enough for me). Be warned - you'll need to turn your alarm volume all the way up, and still might not wake up. I'm sensitive to my alarm sound so I'm able to wake up at max volume - your mileage may vary. Will probably still buy more once I get through the first pack. Happy with the purchase.

Provided you get a good deal/price on Amazon(since the price fluctuates quite a bit) its a value proposition. Well worth the money. The isolation depends on a good seal so deep insertion is required for best results. With the proper seal its very good. Roll the earplugs between your fingertips to squeeze the memory foam, insert quickly and hold since the memory foam takes a second or two expand and grip the inside of your ear canal. When properly inserted the earplugs should not stick out. If they are roll them again and insert it deep and hold for maximum efficacy. When an ear plug seals at the entry of the ear canal, it creates a volume of trapped air between the entrance and ear drum. Because the first half of the ear canal is fleshy it can vibrate with mechanical input—like with foot-falls or chewing on something crunchy. As the ear canal vibrates it slightly changes shape, and with changing shape its volume changes slightly, which causes the ear drum to move in and out to compensate for the changes in air pressure with volume change. This is called the occlusion effect, and it is why you hear your voice louder when you plug up your ears. With a deep insertion having an earplug that seals at the bony section, you don't have as much change in ear canal shape with vibration resulting in a significant decrease to the occlusion effect. With a 3M ear plug properly inserted you get less noise from your heart beat, breathing, foot-fall, or your own singing along...if you're into that sort of thing. It also improves isolation from outside noise. Related to the occlusion effect above, when you plug the outside entrance of your ear canal outside sound will still vibrate the flesh around the ear. This vibration will be coupled to the ear drum through the occlusion effect. With a deep-insertion ear plug sealed at the bony section, isolation from outside noise is essentially at it's maximum possible. There does remain some sound that gets to the ear through bone conduction, but there's nothing you can do about that short of clamping your skull in a vice. Bottom line: With these 3M earplugs deep insertion gets you the lowest noise floor and highest isolation possible. Background noises fade away considerably and are barely audible, you have to focus hard to hear them and yet you can have a conversation with someone sitting next to you or in the same room without the other person having to raise their voice or you having to strain your hearing. Quality memory foam so the same earplug can be used multiple times provided you have clean ears and minimal wax buildup. The firmness of the foam goes down a bit after the first use but it essentially stays the same thereafter. Comfort is excellent. Cons: The wire rope thing conducts noise(microphonics) when it brushes against anything which is annoying and a bit jarring. Solution, cut the rope only leaving an inch or two connected to either earplug to help in removing the earplug and enjoy the silence.
