The tub is tapered. The top is 20.5''x 20.5'' and the bottom is 16''x 16''. The depth is 11''.

Is this 15.5 gallons?

I haven't filled it all the way up or tried to measure it, persay. However, when I wash laundry in it, I fill it with approx. 7.5-8.5 gallons of water and it fills the tub to a little ways under the first "line" (about where the "Behren's" is on the sticker). Just eye-balling it, I'd say it's pretty close to 15.5 gallons, if it isn't exactly. Hope this helps.
