Great for what they are supposed to be.
After going through a summer of mowing lawns without any music, i started searching for something that would be both effective hearing protection and a good way for me to listen to music. This is one of relatively few products out there that effectively does both. The feature list that i had been looking for included blue tooth, low price, microphones with noise suppression and 25 db noise reduction. Obviously, these are not a blue tooth product, but i was unable to find the rest of the list in any other single product anywhere, so i bought these. As someone with sensitive hearing, i would call the volume level on these adequate. At full volume i can hear most music well enough that i am no longer losing my sanity on the back of the mower. If your feed isn't very powerful, you may be disappointed on that front, but with a samsung galaxy s5, i can hear music well as long as it isn't something quiet to begin with. The internal microphones work well in most settings and amplify surrounding noises even with music on. Unfortunately the sound cut off has no adjustment and doesn't cut out a professional mower. You have to turn the amplification off for that type of noise. Still, i can listen to music and carry on a conversation in a lower background noise setting. That is huge. Probably the only change i would make the the product is facing the microphones forward instead of downward. they pick up leaves crunching under my feet incredibly well but don't do quite so well with noises in front of me.The padding on these is comfortable for a long period of time which is awesome. nothing worse than painful headphones. Expect them to be just a bit heavier than normal headphones though, and sometimes just a little bit hot.Bottom line: if you are an audiophile who needs their music loud and with amazing sound quality, you may not be happy with these. If you don't need microphones, there may be other options or if you don't need music, there are definitely other options (which will cost you a good bit more). For being on a job site though, i love these even with their imperfections, and you might too.

Best hearing protection out there. Highly recommended.
I received a pair of these as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago, and they are great. I like them so much I bought another pair for my cousin.I've read some of the other reviews on here, and I think people are buying these things for the wrong reason. They are not headphones. They are noise suppression devices, made to protect your hearing when working in noisy environments. Those who complain about the sound quality did not do their due diligence when purchasing - Ryobi is not a consumer electronics company that would make high-fidelity audio listening devices. They are a tool company. THEY MAKE TOOLS. This is a GREAT tool - the built-in microphones mean that when we're making furniture we don't have to constantly pull off the cans to hear each other when we're NOT using a noisy tool. We leave the cans on, talk normally, and when a tool starts up they automatically turn off the mic and our ears are protected. As a bonus, you can plug in an MP3 player to listen to tunes. Sure, it's not like sitting in your listening room with a $3000 stereo and $500 earphones, but it beats normal cans where all you can hear is the suppressed sound of the router you're using. The battery life is stunning. I normally use these without my MP3 player, but I always have them turned on so I can communicate between tasks, and I have yet to charge the battery. It's been a COUPLE OF YEARS and I haven't charged the battery. And I'm talking about at least 100 hours of use so far.PROS: Protects your hearing, makes it possible to talk without removing them, stupid battery lifeCONS: Audiophiles think they're something they're not, maybe need to be relabeled.BOTTOM LINE: If you use noisy tools and need to talk and hear other people, get these.

A decent headset only time will tell if it's more durable then the Peltors that keep dying on me.
Pros:Don't need AA batteries and the rechargeable battery is only used for the environmental sound.Sturdy and can handle water and frost(using it on a freezer trawler) so far at least (will update if/when it dies)Con's:The ear cups are a bit shallow could be a bit deeper.Sound is pretty low had to boost all my audiobooks sound in iTunes so that I could hear them properly.

First pair had a broken headset in the box. I replaced with the same model for the features although I don't expect they will last terribly long. The plastic on the headset does not seem strong enough to hold up to daily use.

The plastic broke on mine with normal use within 3 weeks, and it is made for people with smaller heads. The weak point is on the plastic (connected to the earpieces) that meets the metal rod for adjustment.

Work well when working with others
These work quite well. They are not noise canceling like a Bose Headphone but allow you to hear spoken words while muffling saws and air nailers. The battery is a rather large lithium rechargeable. I would recommend them for framing or working in the shop.

Headphones work great. Have used them mowing
Headphones work great. Have used them mowing, edging, trimming. Very quite and comfortable to wear. Took them to the firing range where they were awesome. Suppressed the gunfire as well as my active noise canceling headphones made specifically for shooting. And added benefit is the built in microphones that allow you hear conversations in a noisy environment.Shipping was fast, and the transaction was seamless.Glad i bought them.
