Kids Against Maturity Card Game, Fun Family Games for Ages 8-12 and Adults

Got this on sale, and it was worth every dollar & more. We cracked it open on day (technically night) one, and laughed almost the entire time. There are obviously other similar games out there, but I appreciate the tone of this one in particular. Yes, there are a lot of jokes to be made about various bodily excretions (nothing “adult”, though), but it’s handled in a G/PG way so that all ages can get in on the fun. Also important, parents & other adults aren’t going to feel like they’re playing a “little kids” game, as the humor also has potential for clever in-jokes, double entendres, and with the right embellishment & flourishes (think air quotes, for ex.) a seemingly innocuous answer can transform into something other adults will uproariously laugh about. No one will feel excluded or alienated here, and everybody is going to have fun. To illustrate, my youngest (7) plays the game with friends, yet my wife and her coworker (who also played the game recently on a game night) both suggested it would be fun to play on lunch breaks with coworkers. It’s not often that you find a game with the kind of legs to cover that much ground between age groups, but here you have it. The cards themselves are great quality - decent card stock, a smooth sheen, easy to hold for adults & kids alike, pliable yet sturdy enough that they won’t be ruined easily. I wholeheartedly & enthusiastically recommend this game to anyone interested in playing a game loaded with humor, one that encourages creative choices, and interested in a game that’s invested in creating space for everyone in the family (or group) at the table to play & enjoy. You won’t regret it :-)

If you have any sort of humor in your blood, this is the family game for you. We ordered this game before we left for spring break so we could play when we needed a break from the beach/pool. It did not disappoint in the least. My kids, along with my nieces and nephews (ranging from 6-16) were laughing uncontrollably the entire time. The phrase possibilities are as creative and funny as you can make them. I think my 8 year old had the best time. He literally said the next morning after our first night of playing that his stomach was sore. If you’re one of those parents who get offended easy...you should definitely get this game and learn to loosen up a bit. We need to be able to laugh especially nowadays. And if we can’t do that with our kids, then who can you do that with. Great game and will be recommending it to all of my friends.

Kids Against Maturity is an absolute blast for family parties and gatherings! This card game is a surefire way to keep everyone entertained and laughing until their sides hurt. We were worried our 9 year old was going to hurt himself he was laughing so hard. From kids to adults, there's something for everyone in this game. The gameplay is simple yet incredibly entertaining. It's like a more family-friendly version of a well-known adult card game, but with a twist that's perfect for kids. The prompts on the cards are clever, witty, and sometimes delightfully absurd, sparking the kind of giggles that are infectious. What I love most is that Kids Against Maturity promotes creativity and quick thinking. Watching the kids come up with their responses is both hilarious and heartwarming. It's fantastic to see everyone's personalities shine as they try to outwit each other with their answers. The cards themselves are well-made and durable, which is crucial for a game that's bound to be played over and over again. The whole family can enjoy this game together without any awkward moments or inappropriate content. My only minor critique is that after a few rounds, some cards might start to feel a bit repetitive. This game is such a blast! It’s like a kid-friendly version of those other card games for adults, but still funny enough that everyone can enjoy it. Some of the jokes are a little cheesy, but that’s what makes it fun, especially for the kids. We’ve played it a few times now, and it always ends with everyone laughing so hard they can’t breathe. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that some of the cards repeat the humor style a bit too much, so it can get a little predictable. Overall, it’s an awesome game for family nights or when you just need a good laugh! Definitely recommend giving it a try.

We played this game with friends at game night. It is hilarious. The point of the game is to pick a fill in the blank from your cards to fill in a sentence. The person reading the card has to pick the card that "fits"the best. The person whose card is chosen gets a point. If you know your people, you can slant it in their favor. for example, I know my child will always pick a potty word to fill in the blank. It is a blast! I highly recommend this game for game night.

This game is hilarious for adults too. We have played with our kids for years, and have actually been buckled over on the floor laughing with them. IT's fantastic immature fun for all!

Not for Kids—Despite the Packaging I was looking forward to playing with our children. the concept of the game is great, and has the potential to be fun for families. But despite being marketed as a kid-friendly version of Cards Against Humanity, many of the cards are totally inappropriate for children. Phrases like “moose knuckle” “twig and two berries” and “doggy stylist” are not things I want to explain to my pre-teens, nor do they belong in a game advertised as suitable for ages 8+. There were so many questionable cards that I lost the energy to sort through them all and ended up throwing the whole game away. The creators apparently tried to be edgy for laughs, but it crosses a line far too often for something intended for children. Disappointing.

Great game for family game night. Kids rolling around laughing. Some references a bit American but doesn't ruin the enjoyment and easy for everyone to understand

This is an ideal family game. No it's not very mature but if you expected anything else then all I can say is what did you expect from a game called "Kids against maturity"? There are a few cultural references that are a little US specific but to be honest nothing that anyone with a passing knowledge of television wouldn't get. Probably the most obscure reference I saw that was US specific was "Sticky Joe" who is a character from the Teen Titans. The most obscure reference I found was to Lake Titicaca but that is jut a matter of global general knowledge rather than culture specific knowledge. Yes there are some sexual references but they are all in the form of innuendo which like the humour in a pantomime can be read at face value for children while the adults appreciate the innuendo. The worst I found there was "Mr Merkin's wig". If that card appears while playing then an eight year old child can regard it just as a silly comment about someone's wig and if you think the innuendo is offensive then you are not obliged to explain what a merkin is. All of which should be obvious from the description because it quite explicitly says on the amazon page; "not for overprotective parents", "contains innuendos" and "please remove any card you don't approve of". So again if you buy this and then think it's innappropriate then ... well you were warned, multiple times. All of that said though the language is nothing more than any child will hear in the playground and the innuendo is nothing more than you would hear in a christmas pantomime or some of the better childrens TV shows. I would so far as to say that this is an ideal game for kids who are just entering secondary school age. Why? because you can use it as a way to encouter the innuendos in a safe and humorous environment where you can explain what they mean. You would do your children a great benefit from doing so because if they are the child in the class who has no idea what a particular sexual innuendo means you can guarantee their peers will make mockl them for it. Just keep the sessions with explanations for your 13 year old separate from the sessions with an 8 year old who you might not want to explain that to just yet. We played this a few times. The first time we played through it with just two of us to see if there was anything too offensive and the game, while containing a lot of toilet humour, was OK but nothing special. Later sessions we played through with more people and then it does come alive because like all good games the essence lies not in the game itself but the interactions it prompts between the players. That is where this game really wins, because answers can work for different age groups in different ways it's a great way to get generations to interact. Recommended

Ultimately, you know your child / children better than anyone else. This is essentially Cards Against Humanity in kid form. Some cards definitely feel tailored towards teenagers and I can see some parents taking umbrage with that. Vet what you need to based on how your child is / what they know and you'll likely have a good time. It's also Americanised, some things translate worse over here, as an example, one white card says "My big fat fanny" which is obviously a nod to a ladies' frontal nether region in the UK, whereas in the USA, I think it means backside / buttocks. Tamer in one region, worse in another. Still has the capacity to be hilarious but going by UK definition, I'd consider that a CoH card in all honesty. Bought this for my seven-year-old as I thought the humour would be right up his alley (and it is) and originally went off the age rating on another site, which listed 8+ (I thought due to reading capability). Bought here because that site bungled my order prior to Christmas. If you're going to get it, take some time to sit down and vet the cards prior to playing or be ready to explain post-potential-laughing-fit as to why your kid(s) shouldn't be certain terms, language etc in public settings like school, friends parties etc.

Bought for my son and his friend as Christmas gifts, both loved the game, very funny!
