Travel Trailer Lock, Polar White

I did a bit of research and found this lock on Amazon, which turned out to be the exact lock I needed. I did have to go to Youtube to get really good instructions for installation, but the installation was really very simple. One has to unscrew the plate covering the plunger and the four screws on the back portion of the lock. Then it comes apart easily and can be discarded. The new lock has two main parts; put the segment with the plunger in first and then the back. Screw on the plunger plate and the four screws on the back of the lock and you are in business. The screws provided with the new lock were a little short, but since I had just the right lock, I could use the old screws again with no trouble. The only tricky part is making sure the two main portions of the lock are aligned properly as the screws are put in. My 13-year-old grandson was the primary installer on this job and he had to also make sure the plunger was lined up right with the door frame. There was really very little to it and we were happy with the job. Youtube says to put caulk on the lock, but the lock came with a gasket which made the fit tight. We did not use any caulk. Our travel trailer is secure once more and I am very happy that the lock was just right and installed so easily.

This was the perfect replacement handle for our camper at a great price. When we bought our camper the previous owner did not have a key so instead of trying to have a new key made for the old lock I went to Amazon and found this. Upon arrival I found that it was surprisingly heavy and solid. I cannot recall if it came with instructions, but it was very easy to install. I just took off the old lock paying attention to how it came out. The handle came with new screws and two keys. It slid into place fairly easy and the screws were easy to line up to secure the mounting plate. The top lock is for the handle part and the bottom is for a deadbolt lock. Both locks take the same key. Once installed there is no way to know that this was not the original handle / lock for my camper. I have used for a couple of months and it is durable with no negatives that I can think of. I would recommend this to a friend and purchase again if I needed to.

The lock is pretty nice, and was a straight forward, easy installation. I replaces an old, worn out black lock, and I would say the white one looks a lot better on our camper. The only problem I have with this lock is the keys seem to have a problem going in the locks, they will go in, but take a little force. All in all I like them.

I really like these locks. I replaced both of our factory installed locks on our 2015 TT. The old locks were junk from day one. These, however, seem to be of nicer quality meaning the doors shut more smoothly, they seem to be sturdier and key holes and keys fit nicely. I actually like the white better than our old black ones. Not enough screws were provided but I was able to recycle some of our old ones. Also, this product does not come with instructions but I guess it is common sense when you are uninstalling one set to install a new set. Great product overall!!

Had this been a direct replacement for a previous installation I would give it another star as it seems like a good product, is built well and so far works as it should. However this was a 'virgin' install on a cargo trailer door and there was no template included in the kit. A consideration that the manufacturer, Fastec should keep in mind, perhaps. Fortunately, I had access to a travel trailer with the same door orientation and disassembled that latch and fabricated my own template. After cutting and drilling the necessary holes, the new latch fit and works like it was designed, perfectly...

What's to say its a door handle/lock for a Rv. It's pretty easy to install all you need is a screw driver. It comes with two Keys, wish it had four but that the standard with all door locks. One thing to remember if your really worried about safety put a deadbolt on your Rv. Because these things are pretty easy to get into and they only have so many Key Combo's for these locks. Chance are very good in any Rv park there will be someone with a key that will fit your door lock.

This was a good quality door latch and lock. However I didn't check the measurements and it was 1" too short in length. width was right.I decided,since I have a metal shop, to make thin alum. backing plates to cover the cutout in the door. It all worked out fine.I would tell others to measure and make sure it will fit their particle type of RV.

This fit the standard rv lock that went bad on my travel trailer. It is just what I needed. The bad points are it doesn't come with instructions and doesn't have enough screws for all the places that need to be screwed in. But I figured out how to put it in by removing the old one.
