Barbie & Ken As Romeo & Juliet Limited Edition Together Forever Collection (1997)

These were a Valentine’s Day gift for my niece. Suffice to say, they were the hit of the day. She only knows Romeo and Juliet from the Taylor Swift song but that was enough for her. The costuming was so intricate that I almost wished she hadn’t opened them but Barbies are for playing with and this couple is playing a lot these days! While they were a little pricy, it was well worth the money spent to see the delight and hours of play time spent.

This is a lovely set. I often buy Barbie pieces that I can introduce to my granddaughters along with some literature, or art, etc. These dolls are such a great way to introduce Shakespeare, and there are so many lovely movie adaptations for the younger set. It's also a great way to talk about the history of the time and the fashion. The dress is quite authentic in is reproduction and its presented on a very nice "balcony" designed box. What young girl doesn't like to hear the lines from the balcony scene. All in all a delight. I could afford it because the price was really reduced. And there was nothing wrong with it that I could detect....so I was really delighted.

I have always been a Barbie doll owner. As a young girl growing up in the 60's, I loved to play with my Barbie dolls dressing them up and making up stories. I wish I would have kept those original Barbies. So being able to have Barbie and Ken representative of story book characters is the best way to continue my childhood love of the Barbie doll. It keeps a good memory of my younger years alive. I may not play with them as I did when I was a kid, but displaying storybook characters or famous people of history keeps those memories close.

Absolutely fantastic dolls, collectible and last from stock. However cracked carton box on one side even dolls were packed very well. Well shipping to Czech is very loooong. Value price is finally lower when original box is damaged. So I am not so happy, how I could be.
