Ideally this would allow starting at say 2lb and being able to add or remove weights to get anywhere between 2lb-16lb so that you could start light and build up.

16lb is a lot heavier than you realize. Not once you're wearing but trying to put on. The vest is small, definitely made for a woman's build. Weight isn’t accurate
2.5 stars-This vest fits well and seems to be well made. My issue is I bought a 16 lb vest. This vest is no where near 16 lb. Previously I had a 12lb vest from a different maker. My 12lb vest is heavier than this vest which is supposed to be 16lb.

Effective Weighted Vest with Stylish Silver Grey Color
I got the silver grey color, which I absolutely love. I went a little overboard with the weight, but the bonus is this vest works great like a barbell without putting strain on your neck. I use it for squats, deadlifts, and walking—it’s versatile and effective. Just be mindful of the weight you choose!

Comfortable and secure
Works as expected. Using on my daily walks to get 10K as a way to stave off osteoporosis (a problem in women of my family). Only critique is that I wish I hadn’t gotten light grey- I can see that it will sweat stain after a while. I felt it was too hot for black. Guess we will see. It’s comfortable and sits tight when clipped (I am not very busty). Elastic at the bottom helps it sit right. No bounce. My shoulders get a bit sore with a long walk but it is 16# so that’s not unexpected. A good investment.
