does the job
The barrier works in my new CR-V. It takes a little while fiddling with the adjustments, so I think the desgin could be improved a little. The thing I don't like is that the barrier does not function as a single unit for easy installation and removal. e.g. the bottom legs are not attached to the top of the barrier, they'll just fall out when you pick it up. Probably still worth it for the price... hard to say.

It works
I purchased this based on price.I put it in my 2004 Dodge Durango. It was very adjustable. I am sure it can fit in vehicles larger or smaller quite well.My only problem with it is not the designers fault. I own 2 pit bulls that want to sit up front. I secured the barrier pretty well but my female continues to find ways to move it and get under it. I am sure with some experimentation I can make it pit bull proof! lol

Underwelming
PRO: For a not very expensive pet barrier, it was about what I expected. Two vertical bars, each with a long threaded rod to extend from the floor to ceiling. There are two long oval loops that run horizontally. Each of these loops expands to they can reach out to the interior walls of the vehicle. I put it in the back of my 2001 Suburban, behind the 2nd seat. It went in easier than I expected, after reading some of the other reviews. The main part of the device looks fairly well made, though I don't see any way of securing the horizontal loops in their extended positions.CONS: There are 4 screws with paired up wing nuts to help clamp the vertical bars with the horizontal loops. The plastic couplers that hold the bars allow some sliding, and so it appears these screws should help secure things. Two problems: #1 The screws have no slots in them to turn them (see photo). For a moment I thought perhaps these were tiny carriage bolts and they might have square edges that would be held in place, but no such luck. The instructions say you'll need a Phillips screwdriver, but that won't work with these! #2 The position of the brackets that the screws go into won't let the wing nut turn! Both of these are bad indicators of quality control and poor design.SUGGESTIONS: If you purchase one of these swap out the screws if yours has the same issue mine does. Additionally, before you put in the threaded rods into the vertical tubes, mark the approximate location of how far into the tube the threaded rod will need to go (masking tape would work) and then spin on the fitting while holding the rod in a horizontal position. If you try to spin that while it is vertical it will take you forever.BOTTOM LINE: This will likely work for the one trip I anticipate needing it for, but I doubt I'll have it for long.

Good Value
Great product for the price. Installed easily and fit well in our 2010 Mazda CX-9. Works well as is out of the box but if you have a persistent dog you may decide to modify it so the cross bars won't slide down so easily. A couple of circle clamps made it so our 80 pound Weimeraner could not force the horizontal bars down with his head. Does not rattle or damage inside of the vehicle.

Pretty easy to install
Pretty easy to install, although the wingnuts are a tad large and make tightening difficult. But made it's made in China, so they aren't very big on making things with the customer in mind.

Not for Minivans and curious Aussies...
This might work great for older or less curious dogs, or in a less tall space, but it didn't for keeping our young 7 month Aussie in the front or back of our Toyota minivan. He could push it over and we weren't able to tighten it enough that it stayed tight and sturdy. Almost fully extended for the height of the van, it got flimsy in the middle.

Great for a well behaved canine
It really depends on your dogs. It did not work for us because the gaps in the bars so not prevent my dogs from pawing at the leather seats, which is what we needed the barrier for. If your dog is more well behaved, then this may work for you.

So far so good.
Found the other reviews very helpful in deciding to purchase. So far, no problems at all, keeps our weimer in the back of our Tahoe and not slobbering all over the seats and the kids.
