I've bought several other small digital voice recorders, and had problems with all of them. This one WORKS! It has lots of good features that make it easy to use. I'm starting to read the user's manual that came with it now, but I've been using it with no problems since I took it out of the box, it is that simple to use. I've transferred files to my computer, deleted files, etc. and have not come across a menu in Chinese yet! One of the other recorders that I bought (and subsequently returned) got stuck on a menu in Chinese and I couldn't get it back to English.The buttons are laid out well and are easy to operate. There is a battery indicator on the screen at all times so that you can see when it's getting close to needing new batteries--no surprises. I record voice with it, and the speaker on the recorder is good, although plugging in headphones makes the voice even clearer.Another thing that I like about it is that when you go to delete a file, it starts playing the file so that you are sure which file it is. Nice. It also would accept an external mic, and has a "hold" feature which locks out all buttons so that if you have it in your pocket, it will not be affected by inadvertent bumps.If this one quits working I'll buy another one of these. Finally, I have one that works

I do a lot of qualitative research and transcription, which requires working from recording devices such as this one, so I've tried out plenty over the years. However, I was tired of having to worry about buying AA or AAA batteries for my older Sony-brand devices, and decided to try to find a rechargeable one. This is my second attempt; the first one (different brand) had software issues and froze up the first time I actually tried to use it. This one works alright, and I've encountered no such software issues so far, but the sound quality and pick-up are not as good as my older devices, and can be both tinny and variable in noise level, meaning it can be annoying when listening to a recording with headphones. Without headphones, it doesn't get very loud though, which is a counter-issue. However, I found the controls very intuitive, and didn't bother reading the manual to figure them out. Also, this is the most lightweight such device I've ever encountered, which could be really useful if you don't want to carry something heavy in your bag or pocket. I am going to keep this one and use it as backup with other devices when recording really important things, but may look for another one with better microphone range and louder playback.

Hello...Amazon (Seller) delivered as promised! I wanted this gadget to take to a Conference in London and so only had two days to get to grips with the instructions. A fellow helped me and I was able to record at the Conference. I was sitting fairly near the front and glad to say that the presenters gave their lecture without taking questions in between. If they had done it may have been more difficult to follow sound wise! The sound from what I have been able to play back is good. I found the instructions hard to follow and have not had time to set up this tiny gadget properly. To be fair the seller has emailed to ask if all is well and I will be getting back to him for further help. I am of the older generation and not up with all the latest technology and so have found this small player more of a challenge!

Hard to use:To many side buttons that is hard to distinguish .Complicated menus.Played with it 20 min then was back in the box.A recorder should be simple to use.purchased this for the look that is great indeed.Except that and the small cool oled display is a nightmare operating this.Trying to remember all the functions when you need will be a real challenge .I simply do not recommend.

Sleek attractive design which is easy to use once you get to grips with the slightly confusing instructions. BUT Mic pick up in record mode is only reasonable and on review recording had lots of background hiss despite adjusting settings. Not recommended for voice activated recordings (AVR) as mic not sensitive enough. You literally have to be in front of it shouting for the recorder to activate and then it stops recording if the speaker pauses during speech resulting in a total loss of or patchy recordings. The instructions does warn against using it for important events which is an understatement. If you’re looking to buy this gadget for AVR use I would look elsewhere.

The sound quality is pretty good, but for the money it's excellent. And very convenient to use. Because it is so light and tiny you find yourself taking it with you in a pocket, just for fun. You can record anything, and people assume it's just a phone of some kind. I tried this and it worked: narrate some thoughts, etc into the recorder, and then play that file over the computer sound system. While running Dragon Naturally Speaking (I have just the Home version) put a microphone up to the computer speaker. Dragon will transcribe what was recorded pretty well. So that's a way to use this cheap recorder and the cheap version of Dragon to automate transcription of your recorded musings.

I've had at least five of this type of device, all have been a disappointing waste of money, till now ! This recorderlooks and feels like it would command twice the price, I am only interested in it for its sound recording capability and that in my opinion is as good as it gets...as a result the other functionality I don't require eg mp3 music etc only served to confuse me when setting it up so it took me several go's before I was sure I had got it right for me....Should last a v/long time without abuse and so does not make it onto my bad mistake list....many thanks !!
