Great scooter for the money
I bought this scooter to help get around my work area faster. I like it a lot -- battery life is pretty good, it is fast, and comfortable. One thing I wish Currie had done was made it out of a lighter material. It seems unnecessarily heavy! I have to lug it up 5 flights of stairs (damn New York City walk-ups!) and it is really not an easy thing to do. It would improve battery life as well if the thing didn't weigh so much.4/5 stars

Fantastic purchase!
I purchased this scooter for my (then 9 yr old) son two years ago. I was a bit weary, as I KNOW there are a lot of junky scooters out there. We did our research and read SO many reviews regarding SO many different scooters, and decided on the Currie Technologies eZip 500 Electric Scooter. To my surprise and delight, this turned out to be a FANTASTIC scooter! My son uses this all the time, on and off all day long in the warm weather (we're in MN, so we put it away during the snowy months) and it's battery life seems really good. I even jumped on it and rode it to my children's school (a few blocks away) when my truck's battery went bad unexpectedly and I needed to get to school quickly to pick up my children! It has good power, goes plenty fast, is easy to use (80 yr old grandpa even gave it a go!!!), and is STURDY! THANK YOU for making a reliable scooter and not another junky toy that ends up being donated after a short run! He's had it now for a couple of years and are STILL happy customers...that's saying a lot I think! You will be very happy with the construction and reliability of this purchase!!!

Excellent scooter for the disabled !!
My husband developed chronic osteomyelitis of the heel back in 2009. He is young and was very active before this happened. Over the last few years he has begun to lose the ability to walk without assistance. He didnt like any of the standard scooters on the market as they were too slow and bulky. We saw this scooter online and immediately ordered one for him. It has been a God send as it has given him his life back in the ability to move around where his feet can no longer take him. Thank you to Amazon for always having exactly what we need and to the manufacturer for making this amazing product !!

LOVE IT!!
This scooter exceeded my expectations! We bought it for my 11 year old son and I think the adults enjoyed riding it just as much as my son on Christmas!! I like the fact that the seat can be taken off and you can stand as well as sit on scooter. I noticed after Christmas the price came down significantly on the blue scooter. Almost makes me want to buy one for myself:)

Just keeps going!
I purchased an eZip E500 back in 2006 as a way to commute to work across my small town, as I was trying to save for a vehicle and pay in cash. I drove the scooter every day the weather was decent (dangerous in rain) for 5 months, a mile commute each way. For my size (125lbs) no charging was necessary between the 2 trips, just at the end of each day. (The heavier you are the quicker the battery will drain.) This achieved my goal, but the next spring I decided to just save the gas and ride the scotter again. I can no longer commute that way because I work in a different town, and I noticed the battery would only get me about 3-4 miles before draining. But, my family still has and still uses the scooter often for town errands, 7 years later. Over the past 7yrs, I have had to replace a back tire (ran into a telephone pole on a wet day), which is the hardest thing to replace on the thing, and I have blown a few small fuses (20amp small car fuses), but the thing is still super dependable. I do reccomend purchasing an extra batery pack to always have a backup charged if you will use this for more than play. I also reccomend some sort of cover for it if it will be left out, the sun made mine fade fast. And a few user notes... You will get more distance out of it if you don't power it full bore as you ride. And this review was written by a family in the flat lands of Ohio, only tackles low hills in our application.

Great Scooter--Go for the E500
I purchased the E500 and the E450 for my 11 year old twins. The only reason I bought the two different models was because I wanted them to have different colors. The E500 is far superior. We ended up returning the E450 (it's a lot heavier and therefore slower with a shorter charge life) and getting another E500. So we also have twin scooters. Oh well! The kids LOVE these things. They both weigh about 100lbs and the scooter has enough power to get them up a pretty steep hill in our neighborhood. They zip all over on these. Every time they are getting ready to take off on them, I'm yelling "helmet and stay to the right!" All the neighborhood kids are really envious.
