Why is there a hole in the bottom of the glass and how can I keep water from getting between the layers through that hole when washing the glass?

There should not be a hole , water should not get in between the layers . This is my second set and I have not experienced any holes . Send it back as damaged and reorder it

Hi mine were made in China in fact I was really dissatisfied because they broke in my dishwasher then I ordered them from the actual manufacture and they were made in Italy and I still have them and love them
