I had seen these a while ago and had considered transfering my Film and TV discs storage to this, having taking the plunge I will be buying several more I think. The mechanism is simple but works without touching the important parst of the disc, I am not overly sure that the mechanism is completely robust and would put up with constant use but that said aside from playing with it when I first got it the mechanism will not be used often at all and no one is constantly getting there discs in and out over and over. Especially as I am in the process of digitising discs, this is essentially long term cold storage of the original discs.I use an app as another reviwer does to keep a record of all my films and have added a note in the app for the storage location of the discs.My discs are currently all in slip cases, as I had already done away with the bulky cases some time ago however I do think this is a better storage solution. The speed in which you can get to a disc in this storage is far quicker, slide the selector to the right number and open the case: done. Whereas with the slip cases you do have to locate the right case even in an alphabetical sort this still needs some flipping through and then it can be fidly getting discs in and out. That said in terms of the physical space they take up, actually this type of storage would probably take more, whilst the actual phsycial dimensions of the storage per disc are probably similar if not slight smaller in the slip case storage the issue is that rather than stacking boxes of slip cases on top of each other this type of storage needs its own space to be able to access properly etc. Still, I would rather have these on a rack of shelfs tucked away somewhere out of sight for ease of access when actually needed.Overall though, very good item and I will be moving my storage to this gradually. Hopefully this brand, unlike others, will continue to produce this type of storage for some time to come so they will always be available.

I bought a total of 10 of these from 2014, to help organize my huge collection of DVDs, and am still using them today (2024).They work best when on display so I bought a 5-shelf bookshelf and have 2 on each shelf. They don't take a massive amount of space but do need room for the lid to open properly. I don't use the index tray supplied but have a software package (DVD Profiler from Invelos) that helps keep them organized. I export the titles (and their location in the units) in alphabetical order to a spreadsheet and then print them to cards that I keep on the bookshelf. Just look through the list till you find the film you want, find the unit and number, move the dial and press the bar. Simple.As long as you remember to put the DVDs back where they belong, the system works really well.

I saw a similar product online & wanted to organise my dvds to free up some storage space. After reading reviews I opted for this & I'm glad I did. Great quality & the index system works perfectly. Even my husband was impressed & that doesn’t happen very often! Will re purchase to store more of my dvds.

TBH, I wasn't expecting much but the reviews were good and I thought it might help organise my circa 100 CDs. I wanted something that took up minimal space, worked with CDs without their jewel cases and helped me organise my collection. At a very competitive price (although it can. be found cheaper elsewhere if you're happy to wait a few days) I was expecting something that felt cheap, was a tad clunky but did the job. I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. The soft open mechanism is excellent, the build quality sturdy and it works!! Money well spent!!

I purchased this to replace one I had had for over 20yrs and the automatic lid had stopped opening unless used manually.Great item and keeps DVD. CD's tidy and dust free.

Arrived broken . When I removed it from the wrapping it sprang open. The lock wouldn’t work then I found a piece of black plastic in the box
