For Use as External Turntable
I received my turntable today and it is everything I expected it to be based on the product description. The description is precise and accutate. In my case I am using the turntable as a play device plugged into my receiver/amplifier as a component of my audio system. I now have a limited number of vinyl records therefore price was a major factor. The cabinet of the turntable is wood, just as stated. The controls are exactly as shown in the product listing. The user manual is precise and complete enough for simple installation. The Line Out RCA connector on the back of the turntable can be connected to any of the Line In RCA connectors on the external amplifier using any standard RCA cable. It works perfectly. Quality of playback will depend largely on the condition of the record, the quality and output of the amplifier and the quality of the external speakers. My amplifier is set for 7 channel enhanced surround sound and the quality using this turntable as a source is quite good; I am pleased. The turn table is installed in my entertainment center so portability is not an issue. The size of the turntable was appropriate for installation. There is an issue with the internal speakers playing at the same time as the external speakers, this is easily resolved by leaving the turntable volume turned all the way down, to zero if you would. Or alternately plugging a 2.5mm empty audio adaptor into the headphones jack on the turntable which shuts off the internal speakers and leaves the Line Out fully functional. For me the turntable is completely appropriate for my purposes, I am fully able to play vinyl records through my surround sound system. Wonderful, I could not be happier.

Not the audiophile model, but a great starter/upgrade.
Look, if you're looking at this guy, you're probably looking to save a few bucks. I originally had one of those suitcase style cheap things as my first turntable. It...worked. But I knew I needed something better as my collection grew. So, after reading a bit and liking the price, I went with this one. It's waaaaay better than the cheap starter suitcase thing I had, plus it looks fantastic. The sound quality is very good, not as good as say the mid tier major brands, but this thing holds up exceptionally well. Plus the dust cover is a must, keeps my records clean and playing well. There were certain albums I had that wouldn't play in my old player. This model played every single one of them. It's not the die hard audiophile record player, but like I said you're probably not looking for that. Definitely recommend.

Sound, capabilities, Item description
This record player looks amazing. Here are a few facts you may not think of.Positive - It looks awesome and it works.Different1. It doesn't auto shut off - Some records players if you play a record and then leave to run the store. When the record is done it stops spinning. This does not. I played a record and fell asleep. Woke up the next day and it was still spinning. Ruining the needle or at least taking life away from it. I would say an auto shut off is important for most everyone.2. The sound - I don't know or care who you are. The sound is not good. The small built in speakers play and it works. It's just fine at best. My cell phone is better. Most things are better. You will need alternative speakers if you hope to listen to music in any other way than with poor sound quality.3. It doesn't have a built in amplifier. So even though it appears you can connect alternative speakers to it. You can not out of the box. You will need to buy an amplifier. NOT a phono pre/amplifier. An actually small amplifyer if your speakers are passive and don't come with their own amplification. My vintage JVC's do not. What I am saying is GET alternative speakers. Any new speaker will have a built in amplifier and it wont be a problem. I had to buy an amplifier to get the speakers to work. It's the price of vintage.Negative1. The item description is worded as in it connects RCA to an amplifier. I read this as... Oh cool I can connect speakers to it. That is't the case. Unless you have active speakers with a built in amplifier. Which I don't. The description doesn't really explain what one would need. It's a vintage style record player and I bought it to match my vintage passive speakers. So this is my own doing and my own journey.I still give it 4 stars. I would give it a 5 if the sound was even remotely close to good. I mean it plays. No static and it works. It just sounds anemic on treble, base, mid everything. It's very flat. I don't say that because I am a snob. It's truly just not good. So get external speakers, don't think if you have some you can use them out of the box.

Great Starter Turntable
The media could not be loaded. This is a great and inexpensive turntable. I was looking for something to play a boxset of records I was gifted for Xmas. I wanted something simple and ready right out of the box without any type of assembly of belts and arms or attaching a stylus and this turntable met all these criterions at an affordable price. I don't consider myself an Audiofile and I don't own many LPs (just 10 of my favourite band) so like I said, this turntable is perfect for my needs to listen to 2 channel stereo. As an added plus, it matches my tower speakers perfectly. The sound I find to be decent. I don't plan on using the earphone jack nor the built-in speaks but those features are a nice bonus.
