Pickled Whole Cabbage Head, approx. 4.1-4.7lb

Never bought any food stuffs by mail before. But we wanted fermented cabbage for our traditional "pigs-in-the-blanket" meal for Christmas day. Our local source for the item was a restaurant that had recently closed when the owner retired, so we were looking for another source when a family member informed us we could buy it online via Amazon. I ordered the pickled head and it arrived as promised without any damage. Since the item was pickled, there was no apparent problem with spoilage while the item was in transit. The cabbage was used to make "pigs-in-the-blanket" for our Christmas meal. The cabbage was delicious as part of this dish.Only draw back is that the pickled cabbage is probably considered a gourmet item to buy in this manner. With shipping, the cabbage becomes rather pricey. But for an occasional buy for a special occasion, we found it worth it.

Product came in great packaging and super fast. Cabbage looks intact and quality looks great. Never thought I would ever pay $30 for a cabbage but I really want to recreate my Croatian boyfriend’s family Sarma recipe so hopefully it works out

Good quality,so far the best pickled whole cabbage found in the U.S.I am definitely going to buy moreeven with shipping & handling making it little pricey.

Some of cabbage heads are too small. And all of them were tough to roll, especially at the stem. Had to cut the leaves small so my cabbage rolls were very small.I hope somebody could find cabbage thin and strong enough to make pickled cabbage rolls.
