I am whelmed.
Yes, it does ooz a bit and the power button does get turned off if you lay it on that side, but this thing is a beast. I use it for carpet repair and it’s performed great. Heats up quick and will turn a 10 inch stick into a puddle in seconds. The built in drip tray takes care of the oozing problem. I am as happy as one could be about a glue gun.

Legit brand , safe, performs as advertised. Get this one!
This one is a winner. A real American brand / design that is safe and doesn’t make fraudulent claims. The gun is huge and it has the power it claims. Some reviews criticize it as having false power claims , mentioning “inrush current” (the manufacturer may even be staying it this way) which is not in fact the proper terminology.Inrush current as defined in the electrical world is a very brief current spike associated with plugging in power supplies or starting motors up. It lasts a fraction of a second. This device on the other hand starts off at 300W, which is very, very high and starts melting glue very quickly, then throttles itself back over several seconds.. If it didn’t do this it would overheat and ignite the glue and burn out very quickly. It must have some kind of automatic thermal current regulation, probably a PTC thermistor heating element- which is fantastic - and certainly not something I’ve ever found ,or would expect to find , in the Chinese no-name brands .So I’m very happy I bought this. It is a safe product from a globally recognized American brand. It would be crazy to buy some Chinese unsafe junk brand, no matter how great the reviews, especially because this Areow unit did not cost more than the Chinese “premium” units — with their fake power ratings and all. The Arrow is a bargain in fact and a no brainer purchase.

Paid for it’s self 1000 times over!
Update: I’ve been using this glue gun as a professional carpet contractor for three years and it still heats fast and puts glue down like a beast! It eats high temp glue sticks for lunch and keeps eating. Hearts up in about 60 seconds so I’m not waiting on it like my previous one. Love this glue gun. Been doing this for 26 years and it is equivalent to the high end (very expensive) glue guns they sell at supply shop. The stand isn’t really operable on carpet but I just lay it on a scrap piece of carpet and wrap it up with that piece after use so I can put it in my bag hot.Almost forgot I repaired the handle on my microwave using this gun and surebonder high temp sticks two years ago. Saved me from buying a new one that goes above stove. They aren’t cheap lol

Great glue gun!
We used 2 of these for an all-day installation (adhering fabric trim around a dining room). Both guns were on and used for about 9 hours. Both performed flawlessly. So many nice things about this gun:- heats up fast- doesn't drip excessively when idle- very good control of glue quantity- on/off switch is a nice feature- stand and "wings" do a great job of keeping the gun upright, and if it falls over, the tip doesn't touch anything- very consistent temperature- body of the gun does not get hotThe only minor complaint is that the on/off switch is easy to bump and turn off. Not a big deal.Works with the bulk-buy cheap sticks just fine.

A Serious Glue Gun With Minor Flaws
I bought this heavy duty glue gun primarily to improve the assembly quality of furniture sets that can be readily purchased at a certain large blue store with four yellow letters. How so?Like many things, it all started on an internet forum where people were discussing ways to make their wooden ‘four yellow letters’ furniture sets endure the hardships of moving. One idea that stuck with me from that thread came from a commenter who mentioned that they would use a high powered hot glue gun on every wooden dowel pin as they installed the pins into their respective slots. After testing that method with 7 furniture builds, here are my takeaways:- Many say to use gloves in their reviews and and that lead me to think that heat safety would be a huge issue. Frankly, it was not a problem at all. The glue gun runs extraordinarily hot at its peak operating temperature (as it should), but it was very easy to keep the business end where it belonged.- You want to use a drip catcher. Once the gun is fully heated and ready to roll, it will drip molten glue out of its tip no matter how careful you are. I use a 2” clay flower pot base because it’s inexpensive, heavy enough to stay put, and should last forever.- If the glue that you just applied cools down too quickly, use a heat gun to bring it back up to temp.- Keep the glue moving or turn off the heat. If the entire heating chamber/glue reservoir liquifies, the next time you press the trigger to feed more glue into the gun could result in a back flow of extremely hot glue. Don’t let this happen. It’s a pain to clean up.Overall, this is a decent hot glue gun. Just be careful and turn it off when you’re done using it.

Fast and effective!
I wanted a full size glue gun so I could get better glue. I use it to hold the motors in place in my little combat robot. I had always used Goop or the like, but set time is really long, so in a rush, I had to use my mini glue gun. The glue wouldn't hold through a whole event, and I'd end up losing motors. With this Arrow glue gun and the Arrow all-purpose glue sticks, I can forget about using Goop. The glue gun heats up in 2 minutes or less, and the glue holds the metal motors on the UHMW plastic frame with no issues, no matter how many times my bot gets slammed around and partially pulverized. Sure, it's a little stringy, but I don't care! I tried some high-temperature glue from another company to go with it, and that didn't stick to the motors at all. The samples that came with this gun are perfect, so I bought more. Also, it barely drips when sitting there, whether upright on the stand or resting on the side supports.
