ground mastic (mastic)
This is a spice that is used in traditional greek breads from the island of Cyprus. I found it to be a little stronger in flavor than the one that came from the island of Cyprus (which I cannot get in the US), next time I make the "village bread" I will use a little less and hopefully that will do it. I usually use 1/4 t. per bread recipe a tiny less as I do not wish to loose the flavor. This spice is used in conjunction with ground "mehlepi" traditionally you do not use one without the other. To get an idea, in 3-1/2 cups of flour, I use 1/4 t. each of the two spices. I do not know how to use this spice any other way. These are the traditional greek spices that I remember as I was growing up. I feel so fortunate to be able to get them here in the US.

Finely ground, mild or no flavor
This stuff is AMAZING! I added a quarter tsp to my ice-cream custard (6 whole eggs, 3 cups heavy cream, 1cup sugar, vanilla bean paste crystallized ginger added halfway through ice-cream maker cycle), and it is the smoothest, creamiest Iโve cream Ive ever made. I saw a video about a Turkish ice-cream vendor whose โsecret ingredientโ was mastic. This little container contains very finely-ground mastic, no further prep needed.

Mastic Gum
Iโm absolutely loving this spice. I use it for my Armenian Sweet Bread ( Choreg)

Tastless
I use mastic to make Greek butter cookies, but I usually get mastic gum and pulverize it into a powder. When I saw this product advertised it was Mastic Powder for Cooking I thought it would be easier to use than pulverizing the mastic gum into powder. It would have been a lot easier had the Chios Mastic Powder for Cooking has any taste at all. The texture is perfect, but there is no taste at all. So, if you are using this for cooking and expect it to impart some taste, think again, it does not. Unfortunately, this product is not returnable. I am giving this product one star as I was not allowed to assign it no stars.

nice consistency for baking not very aromatic but flavor does come thru on baked bread

Light flavor
I've been trying to recreate a mint called a Ben Hur that's been discontinued. One of the ingredients is Mastic flavoring. I thought this would work but it didn't quite make it, but it still has a nice light flavor.

Didn't like
Product hard to use in the container it comes in, its hard to measure it out and sometimes has me adding to much to food making it bitter. Not a fan
