Excellent book for making bowls and vases using a scroll saw. Similar bowls can be made with a band saw, requiring a grain following cut through each ring. With a scroll saw, only a small hole is required to be drilled on the edge of the rings. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. As with any type of woodworking, basic shop tools and safety gear are needed. The scroll saw does most of the work, but it can't do everything. I have several books from Fox Chapel Publishing. they can't be beat.

Don’t like the pattern sizes
All the patterns need to be enlarged before you can use them to make bowls. I don’t have access to that type of copier.

A must Have For A Scrolling NEWBIE!!!
I am brand new to scroll sawing, as a matter of fact I believe seeing this book pushed to buy a scroll. Granted it is a entry level saw but it is one that I can learn from. For a beginner such as myself the author has a way of making the reader feel and believe that as the projects they have in this book are possible. There are so many tips and tricks that had not even seen on YouTube. I'm a huge YouTube fan and was hesitate to buy this book believing that all that there is to learn is already out there, I was dead wrong!!! If you are new to scrolling this is a must buy, trust me you won't be disappointed with what you will learn. For some reason I am not able to put a picture up but I made a bowl using this book 2 hours after I received it. Get it and make some bowls.

Good instructions.
This works well for the beginner or someone with some skills already. Clear easy to read instructions. I've already adapted some of the patterns for different items.

Awesome book, from beginner to advanced. It even has a project exactly what I was wanting to do. I would recommend this book if you want to know how to make bowels on a scroll saw or even want some patterns and ideas.
