Like others have mentioned, I didn’t just get the mapping tool, I also got a ton of information, directions, and practice maps to play with when my package arrived. The customization note for declination for my area was just a little nod towards how much the owner cares about their business.I’ve used many many protractors over the years and the offering here are top quality. Thick enough not to break but light enough to not be a problem for those counting oz.’s.Scales are not printed on the plastic. There is some texture there so I don’t know if they’re etched or what but they appear to be more robust than what I’ve used it the last.I’m 100% happy with this purchase and would absolutely recommend this vendors items to anyone needing mapping tools.I’ve spent over 30 years navigating by map and compass for my job and recreation, these are the best tools I’ve encountered in that timeframe.

I never give glowing reviews on Amazon. But, this product and company blew me away. Upon opening the package, I almost had a hard time finding the two racing corner rulers I ordered at first because there was so much GREAT ADDITIONAL FREE information inserts stuffed into the package with them! I mean, they even mapped our shipping address for magnetic north declination adjustment and put the information (including instructions for adjusting a couple popular compasses) on a business card sized insert, folks. Are you serious right now?! My wife is newer to land nav. So, all of those extra goodies went right into her nav kit. (Who am I kidding? I put the second set in my kit too "just in case".)As for the rulers themselves, they're pristine and the markings are etched rather than just printed on. I couldn't be happier. Personally, I have to believe anyone who didn't give these folks 5 stars was trolling. There's just no way unless they expected a voucher for a free pizza, or something, in the package as well. Seriously, thanks so much to the MapTools folks for being awesome.

I received my MapTools Adventure Racing Corner Rulers very quickly and I was surprised to see that it wasn't just my product but a wealth of extra information. They even took the time to make a Magnetic Declination chart unique to my area. I discovered that I had access to a ton of training to go along with my well built and handy corner ruler. This was enough to compel me to leave a review. Don't hesitate to order from MapTools. And now i'm off to peruse their website.

This is the perfect book if you’re new to adventure racing or looking to advance your skills. The descriptions are easily understood and the activities help to connect it all.

What a neat measuring UTM tool. Simple, fast and an item to have when taking readings from a Map to your GPS or GPS to your map.. This tool can also be used for other maps measurement which makes it versatile.

great, fast service and a accurate map tool for the backpack. I have 2 packs fully equipped for a five day bugout for camping. With the new map tools,they are better plastic but thinner,still handle with care.

It came with easy to understand, instructions. I am going to purchase again .
