Chirri & Chirra, Underground: Volume 4 (Chirri & Chirra, 4)

I purchased this book for my child’s fourth birthday, it was a huge hit, but not just for her but also her two older siblings ages six and 10. They love the sweet, simple story, and the illustrations, especially I think the concept of hidden worlds underground was especially fascinating and enticing. The words are very simple, but the illustrations are complex and interesting, and have prompted a lot of imaginative ideas from my children.

We LOVE Chiri and Chira at our house. The whole family enjoys these books - Underground is our 3 yr olds favorite of the ones we have so far. The illustrations are beautiful and quirky. We are avid readers and I cannot count how many times my son has picked this one to read over the few months we've had it. Buy it!

The media could not be loaded. This was the very first book we read out of the Chirri and Chirra series, and it did not disappoint! The story follows the two sisters on an adventure under the ground. Riding on their bikes through the tunnels, they discover all sorts of unique things and meet new friends. Things that caught my eye:* The story is very gentle, and slow-paced* The book encourages children to explore and try new things* Soft pencil illustrations* Would recommend for ages 2-6This little book is definitely a must have. It’s playfulness and story really encourage the reader to dream and leave reality for a moment to emerge themselves in a whimsical world full of flowers, critters and an underground world.

This is the book which remains as the sweetest memory in your childhood. When I first read her book, I just fell in love with Kaya Doi's book. Her drawings are special. I've never seen picture book as beautifully drawn as hers. Also, the story is very sweet and cute.
