Fantastic Starters. Growing Nicely!
Bought 2 of these things, and they came very small, about 2" each. Planted both, birds ate all the growth on one, but regardless, it came back from the root. These things are now growing like weeds and doing fantastic. Great buy, and I am glad I took a chance on these. I planted them in larger pots and plan to relocate them to their final plot come spring. Even if I had lost one, it still would have been worth the money. Planted in the Denver area.

Red not purple!
Not what I was expecting. In 2 years I’ve only seen 2 flowers and the are red not purple. Arrived in poor condition and I’m surprised it survived at all. Would not purchase again.

Exactly what I wanted
The plant arrived in perfect condition. It was packaged very carefully so there was no damage to it. They recommended that you let the plant sit outside for for three days which I did. I put it in the ground and it is growing beautifully. I can’t wait to see the flowers next summer!

Very small plant
Seems to be very slow growing, infact not much bigger than when arrived. I am looking forward to its full growth to determine if I would recommend it. Unsure of my evaluation at this time

Fast Growing!
I live in Seattle and planted these near my wooden fence. They grow FAST. I already need to start training them to climb the fence, and it hasn't been two months yet! (I bought in March, and planted in March.)

Well, they're still alive....
I live in zone 7 with a north-facing flower bed, which receives almost full sun throughout the summer. I was looking for something that would climb up the lattice under the porch of my row house, and I thought some fast-growing beatiful clematis jackmanii would fit the bill.I ordered four vines. Well, the plants arrived in a USPS Priority Mail box, haphazardly arranged amidst a bunch of shipping peanuts. All but one of the vines were broken in multiple places, one right at the base, but not completely severed. The one that did not break was because it was only about 4 inches long; the others were over a foot to two feet long (single vines). I thought they would all die, but I followed the instructions for post-shipping care and kept them indoors for a few weeks. I righted the broken vines and secured them loosely to a trellis with twisty ties. I had bought the plants in early March, so had time to nurse them indoors this before planting. The plants responded well, and the broken parts seemed to flush out -- color and new growth appeared at the ends of the vines. My flower bed is a rough place, since I think the builders just filled the flower bed's retaining walls with sandy clay earth when they excavated the basement, instead of topsoil. I dug out large areas and mixed potting soil with the earth when I planted the vines. I laid a weed barrier and rubber mulch on top of the flower bed. June was a rough month and it hardly rained, although the sun beat down. I watered the plants in the evening, although it seemed so hot that the parts of the vines that touched the dark-colored mulch were burned to a crisp and those parts died. For a while, I thought I was going to lose two of the four plants, and the other two were barely hanging on. Then suddenly after June, new long vines shot out of each of the plants. Perhaps they were still establishing their roots for the first two months. Now they are doing much better and have reached out to find the neighboring plants. They are still only single or pair of vines each, but they look like they will survive. No flowers this year I am sure, but I read that it is normal for clematis to sleep and establish roots the first year. If the plants will adhere to the lattice without scorching, I will be in business. Hopefully some of the other bushy plants are giving them enough protective shade at their bases.

Waste of money
It came broken in the box and died when we planted it. Waste of money.
