Works and fits as expected. See note, however!
Lets me use my older M42 threaded lenses with my Panasonic GX85 camera. Do note that certain M42-mount lenses (not designed for specifically for Pentax cameras) may have an extra pin (for locking onto the camera mounting flange) or an overhanging aperture ring that presses against the flange of this adapter and so prevents aperture adjustment! As examples: Early Ricoh lenses have the extra pin and Mamiya-Sekor SX lenses have both the pin and the ring overhang. If all you have is the -extra- pin (not the pin that closes the aperture as that's needed), that may usually be extracted by pulling it out with a vise-grip. (Don't remove the aperture pin!!) If you have a Mamiya-Sekor SX lens that also has the aperture ring overhang, you might be tempted to grind off the overhang but there's a simpler solution: Buy this focusing helicoid instead as it's the same depth as this adapter but is slightly narrower in width so the ring overhang clears the flange surface: https://www.amazon.com/Fotasy-AM42M-Adapter-Focusing-Helicoid/dp/B00E7HRGCC/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1509407149&sr=8-9&keywords=fotasy+focusing+helicoid This item serves dual-purpose as a standard adapter and, as a focusing helicoid, adds macro capability to your lens (bonus!). I'm also using it with an M42 lens that has a frozen focusing helicoid so this adapter restores normal focusing function.

Rainbow Imaging M42 to Micro4/3 adapter
I bought this M42 adapter in order to use a few old screw mount lenses on my new Olympus E-P3. The adapter is solid, locks securely in place on the camera, and lenses fit securely on the M42 mount (correctly oriented, too!). This adapter ensures infinity focus, and it works very well! I keep my old Meyer-Oreston 50mm f/1.8 on it all the time as a great compact intermediate telephoto lens, and I have a second adapter on the way to stay permanently mounted on my 135mm f/2.8 as a compact super-tele! The adapter also works well on my friend's Panasonic AF-100 camcorder and GF-1 camera.

Can't beat it for the Price
For the money this can't be beat, very solid construction, very nice finish, looks like a high dollar adapter. Obviously this isn't a smart adapter so all adjustments will be manual but that worked perfect for my needs. The only complaint is there is a ring that needs to be adjusted to allow infinity focus on some lenses, it uses three very very small flathead screws to release the ring and allow adjustments, I found it was almost impossible to pull the ring out and tighten it back in place evenly around the adapter. I'm glad that there is at least some feature to allow adjustments as neither of the lenses I used could reach infinity focus without it but it could use some polishing. Overall, very solid product that works nicely for what i needed it for without breaking the bank.

Works perfectly for me...
Now I've only had the adapter for one day, but I've had the opportunity to test it on a GH2 with three different M42 lenses (Yashinon 50 1.4, Vivitar 28 2.5, and a generic Panagor 85-205 3.8)...and the adapter has worked perfectly. No problem with the aperture bayonet hitting the flange for me, I've had perfect control of aperture on all three lenses tested. No problem with the flange in any way (as per the 1-Star review here) lenses were screwed on, held in place nicely, and screwed off without issue. I plan to test on more lenses, and I'll update this review should I run into any problems...but at this point this seems to be a wonderful product at a even better price!

Better than expected
The M42 to MFT adapter is honestly better than I expected. I was really expecting a plastic body with metal mounts due to the low price. However I was surprised that this is a solid and durable feeling adapter. I honestly think the camera mount would fail before the adapter. If that's what holding you back, don't let it. Really decent product. Flange distance is correct and the threads are proper pitch. I really have nothing bad to say

Wow! It did the job.
My landlord knocked on my door and handed me an old Yashica Lens. Another tenant had moved out and left it behind. Now what? I called my photography mentor and he said "buy an adapter". This M42 to MFT did the job. It is a high quality zoom lens. Manual focus and no image stabilization. The aperture can be controlled by the camera body but not a MFT body so it is full manual with the Fotasy adapter but what great photos from my GH5.

(MAKE SURE YOU DONT HAVE A APERTURE PIN)
It fits perfectly on my mft camera. The only main caveat is that if your lens has a little pin to automatically adjust aperture, it won’t let you adjust your aperture at all with it on the adapter . This renders one of my lens to be mostly useless, as with it on the adapter, the aperture ring doesn’t work. Make sure you either have a lens with a M / A slider for manual aperture control, or one with no aperture pin.

A functional adapter
I purchased this adapter for use with my Olympus E-P1 Pen. It's worked exactly as expected in the 30 days I've owned it. The adapter itself seems reasonably lightweight for its size. I have an array of Super Takumars passed down to me and this has allowed me to use all of them. The ability to use classic lenses on my camera has been nothing short of fantastic. I don't have trouble reaching infinity focus with anything I own. The aperture dials on the lenses end up positioned on top as expected. The bayonet action between the adapter and camera body feels smooth as do the M42 threads. Simple and effective, it works for me. The adapter I received is completely anodized black rather than having bare aluminum M42 threads (as shown in the product picture at the time of this review). Cosmetic difference only.
