Map + this and all other GPS for hiking etc are useless
The software is garbage in that is simply does not work in Windows 10 and of course not linux with Wine. For 49.99 though vs all other GPS trackers and frankly even those with maps this is hands down the best there is. With a good map, the compass and waypoints in this you will be hard pressed to not find your way around. I tried Garmin and I cant understand why they are so highly rated. The compass doesnt work, they are so slow the map hardly works, the software would crash windows 10 explorer, all of the maps cost and free ones rarely work correctly. You are better off with something like Alpine Quest on your phone than any Garmin Ive touched. I digress though. If all you care about are lat/long/elevation, compass, waypoints with directional/distance to get to, water resistance and a few nice features to bat such as lightning indication, replaceable batteries and a week+ long battery life then this unit is for you. I dont know why its 49 vs the 159 but as far as I can tell the others simply have a different name, icons, color and have not been discontinued. This thing is so good and simple I am considering ordering another as a backup.
