Italian Coffee Pods for Nespresso Original (Pack of 100 Regular Lungo)

Just wanted to give an update after about a month of drinking the Italian Lungo capsules in my pixie…. (I still don’t like the Crema ones straight but they are fine for a cappuccino) The Italian Lungo capsules are consistently delicious. I’ve not had a single defective capsule and I’ve gone through almost 4 boxes (40 capsules). I’m so happy I found these…. My favorite nespresso capsules (besides the amazing forest almond that was limited and discontinued over a year ago) are Vienna Lungo, Buenos Aires Lungo and Paris espresso. But these Lungo Italian capsules are just as delicious and I find myself reaching for them more than any of my nespresso capsules now. I don’t mind spending g more for quality products and have been purchasing nespresso capsules for years. I’ve tried others out of curiosity…. Starbucks, Target, Peet’s, etc…. And I usually go back to the nespresso capsules because they are just better. But these are amazing…. On par with my top pics from nespresso and at 25cents each it’s an unbelievable value. I noticed there were some reviews saying that they aren’t compatible with their nespresso machine….they ARE compatible with ORIGINAL NESPRESSO MACHINES. There are 2 types of Nespresso machines that use 2 very differently shaped capsules. The original machines use the original small capsules like these. If you have the vertuo machine with the big, wide capsules it’s obviously not going to work. I remember ring confused about this when I first bought my pixie years ago too. These work great with my nespresso pixie which is an original machine and I’ve not had a single dud. The general consensus is that the original espresso machines makes a better, fuller, more authentic espresso. I can’t say if that’s true or not because I’ve only ever had original machines. But I do love it. Original review: Decided to try these because the price was amazing and reviews were overall pretty good. I bought Crema espresso and Italian Lungo. I added a video showing them brewed in my original pixie nespresso machine and a quick taste test… The Crema flavor is, in my opinion, acidic and bitter. I don’t like that one straight but it might be good with a little frothed milk. But it’s intensity is 9/10 so if you like that strong taste with a definite acidic flavor profile you may like it. It’s fine for cappuccinos but I usually drink mine straight. The lungo Italian is AMAZING…. I’m so impressed by that one. Super smooth and delicious all in its own. Doesn’t need anything at all. I added a photo of my top 3 nespresso pods and these…. I go back and forth between Vienna and this Italian roast (first 2 on the left) as my favorites and will continue buying and enjoying them both.

Good tasting coffee for a good price. I bought this product a couple of times. However, in several instances my coffee maker was unable to perforate the capsule or could only punch a very small hole in it, so I had to take it out and use a pointed knife to dig a small hole on top of it. The maker should assess the hardness of the plastic top of their pods to make sure they work.

Once I lost my job mid-March, right when the virus hit, I started making my own lattes at home---- and I picked up a Nespresso (Innizio model, maybe $47 lightly used in perfect condition on Ebay) and these pods... I'm purchasing them today for the 9th time---- always buying the 100 pack for $25. One pack of 100 lasts me almost a month (I drink a LOT of these-- prob avg of 3-4 per day). I use TerraSoul Coconut Milk Powder and a hand held milk frothing tool to make the most delicious espresso drinks I've ever had... In my life. And I live in Portland, OR where we take our coffee very seriously. THE PRICE CANNOT BE BEAT---- I'VE NOT HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SINGLE POD--- AND I WILL KEEP COMING BACK! Negative reviews on this product confuse me greatly, perhaps they're from COMPETITORS or people who don't own actual "NESPRESSO" machines. My machine has NEVER had a single problem puncturing literally 800 of these pods. BUY them--- if you don't like I'm fairly certain you won't have a problem returning them, as I've not had a single problem returning anything with Prime and have been an Amazon customer since 2001. I think these BAD REVIEWS are from competitors, I swear--- they don't make any sense-- these are the JAM!!! :)

This is really good coffee provided that you prefer smooth, lighter roast flavor. The pods are unusual in that the body is not aluminum. However, it is also not flimsy plastic. Whatever the material, it is very hard and works well in my espresso machine, which applies quite a large force and high pressure. The packaging apparently also preserves the ground coffee as judged by its fresh taste. I am pleased to be able to buy such good coffee at a reasonable price.

These capsules are destroying my coffee machines. For some reason the material of the capsules is so hard that the machine is not able to press the water through it. Eventually the pressure finds a different way through the machines internals means starts leaking. 2 machines broke this way before I realized that the capsules are at fault. Only when I used capsules from a different brand did I realize that. Stay clear of this product or risk the function of your coffee machine!

For years I've purchases solely from Nespresso. I love the blue, green and orange Lungos (Vivalto, Fortissio, & Linizio). To save money I thought I'd try these (as a Lungo). They're very good! I did not consider the ones I purchased from Nespresso as flavored (neither does Nespresso), but compared to this new coffee... they are. That led to my first sip judged as being bland. They are a bit compared to Nespresso. But I take my Lungos black with no nothing else. This is good quality, non-flavored Lungo coffee with very good crema. These are probably 80%-90% the same as what I purchased from Nespresso. After getting use to something a bit different, I really like 'em and will keep buying them. My wife takes hers with frothed milk and a dash of cinnamon and says they're 95% the same. She also wants to keep buying them.

The pods are a clever redesign of the Nespresso pods which uses much less material. Unfortunately, they don't work very well. Grounds end up in my coffee at least half of the time, and the soft body of the pods doesn't interact reliably with the clamping mechanism of the machine. Then, they leak a lot more than the Nestle pods after they're ejected. The Nestle pods pour neatly into the bin, but these cling to each other and the basket and scatter. It all compounds into making my machine more gross and a little more difficult to clean. The taste is appealing but definitely not as nuanced as the excellent Nestle pods. I can't quite justify these to myself.

I bought these to try as I was tired of having to brew 2 pods of espresso just to get a decent amount of coffee for my milky drinks. These worked perfectly for my nespresso gran latissima and the price per pod is great. Coffee is very aromatic without being overly bitter or acidic. For reference my usual go to pods are the Lavazza Rosso pods. But I’m loving these! Especially for larger lattes and latte macchiatos.

I’ve been drinking the popular Nespresso “purple pod,” Arpeggio, for over four years after trying many different flavors. While I do like the Italian Inspiration line, I find it a bit too bitter for my taste. I’ve also tried quite a few affordable medium-roast capsules on Amazon, and so far the Italian Coffee Delicitaly Espresso Lungo Intense capsules are my favorite. The intensity is just right—medium and aromatic—with pleasant chocolaty notes and no bitter aftertaste when brewed. I’ve already ordered about six boxes over the past two years. I drink it every morning with almond milk to make a latte, and it comes out smooth and flavorful every time. Definitely a great option if you prefer a balanced coffee that isn’t overly bitter.

As I have only used them a few times, it is hard to say, but so far I like the taste, and they are less than half the price I was paying for the others.
