Managing Tourette Syndrome: A Behaviorial Intervention Adult Workbook (Treatments That Work)
A**
shame and social “appropriateness” based
Pros - some tips and tricks for the more annoying or painful tics.Cons - no info on advocating for yourself and TS. Pushes “socially acceptable” behaviors and spends moderate portions of time discussing how it might make other people feel “uncomfortable” instead of advocating for the sufferer. Does not offer shame reducing interventions discussing how to manage feeling “different” when some tics won’t just be “checked off the hierarchy.” No strategies outside of the few behavioral interventions offered as alternatives. Would not use with my clients as a primary treatment for TS book.

Waste.
Didn’t know it wasn’t a stand alone self help book. It needs to be used in conjunction with a therapist using the therapist version of this as well.
