Peterson #1 Blue Flux, Coarse Powder, 1 lb Can

Works good for clean brass job. Have used before.

I have been using Peterson #1 Blue Flux, Coarse Powder, for over 35 years. Not often, but once or twice a year, and have been satisfied in every way with it. My current can of flux is about 20 years old and is nearly gone. During that time it has remained unchanged in the can and works the same today as it did when purchased. About a year ago I purchased a pound or two of flux coated brazing rod and tried it out but decided I didn't like it because of the overabundance of flux accumulating on the item being brazed. The other day I noticed that much of the flux had peeled and fallen off the brazing rod that I had left over. In the future I will stick with Peterson #1 Coarse. It coats the metal being brazed and allows the brazing material to wet the iron or steel being brazed in a very satisfactory manner. I have had no problems with attaining high quality brazing jobs.

Works well. I had to deduct a star for the paper label. Whose idea was that, to put a paper label on a product that's intended to be used in close proximity to a very hot burning torch, especially if any of the info included on the label is important info

Works great on steels, bronze and copper with silver alloys but especially nickel silver on steel. Makes it flow like a 45%. Great for stainless too.

I recently ran out of the white powdered flux I have had for years. When I went to my local welding supply store they only had a liquid flux which was terrible. They said they didn't have a powdered flux. I searched for quite a while and finally found and purchased this one. So glad I did. It works at least as good as the original. . . Maybe better. Only issue which was my fault. After you heat the rod and dip it in the flux do not forget it and leave it in the can. You will be amazed how much flux adheres to the rod.

I was having a hard time finding this stuff. Welding stores no longer carry it. Found this on Amazon. Works like the flux I used 30 years ago. It is not as powdery as the old flux, but more like salt size. Works never the less.

Product is good but once I received it the package was filled with the contents of the can. The flux was easy to put back into the can but shipping powder in a small paint can is not really smart. unless it would be sealed better Small cans often take damage in shipping. As mine did. Seller should ask the manufacturer to change package to box or bag. So it would take shipping damage belter It would help lower the cost to the manufacturer and the buyer. But like I was saying the flux is good at welding or rather helping the metals to bond .

Used this to weld a cast iron manifold using OA and cast rod filler. Used liberally and flowed well.
