Dr. Moku's Hiragana & Katakana Flash Cards - Learn the Japanese Alphabet for Beginners

These flash cards are amazing. I have been trying to learn the hiragana and katakana syllabaries for a couple months on DuoLingo without much success. I tried downloading a couple of other apps and was still really struggling. I've always done well with mnemonic learning devices (I used them to memorize latin plant names in college) and so when I saw this deck of flash cards I thought I would give it a try. And... wow! I've spent about ten minutes a day over the last three days reviewing the flash cards and I have already mastered four times the number of hiragana symbols than the last several months with various apps. I cannot recommend these cards enough if you are struggling to learn Japanese. At this pace I should have both syllabaries memorized in another week, and then I can move into actually learning the language.

Dr. Moku's Hiragana & Katakana Flash Cards are excellent! I've made a lot of progress learning since I started using the flash cards. I try to avoid using screens at night, so the flash cards are a great method for practicing in the evening. There's also an app you can get on Android / iPhone that with audio tracks, lessons and quiz material to supplement the flash cards.

Love these flash cards! The mnemonic memory aids are excellent. So easy to remember characters. Who can’t remember when for example, Ed Sheeran is used to assist - just one example. I’ve been using these for the last week and have learned half the hiragana alphabet. Highly recommend!

Highly engaging and helpful study tool! I was having a lot of trouble with Hiragana and Katakana at first but these flashcards have helped immediately! They also include complimentary access to the app!

These flash cards are great, but it’s a little weird because right after I opened them I found this weird smudge on one of the cards and several others have smaller smudges. The cards were factory sealed so I don’t know how that happened. But it’s just very strange and I wanted to mention it

I purchased these cards to help study for an adult online Japanese language class that I enrolled in. I thought it would be a gentle introduction to Japanese but I had unknowingly enrolled in an accelerated course! Learning Hiragana quickly was necessary. These cards have been essential in reaching that goal. They are designed simply with just the right amount of information. The vivid colors, creative graphics and mnemonic memory tools on the cards are captivating and linger in your memory without even trying. With purchase of the cards, you also get their app. It's fun and easy to use. I like to use the physical cards best because the tactile aspect helps me to remember better, but using the app helps and is nice to use on the go.

My daughter struggled to learn katakana and hiragana but once I bought these cards for her she memorized the kana in two days. Highly recommend to all learners of Japanese language.

I was very positively surprised by the cards. I didn't give much about the product's claim of teaching you Hiragana/Katakana in a day, but to my surprise, it worked. I opened the cards on Friday evening and by Saturday 2pm, I knew all Hiragana. Some mnemonics are really stupid/unintuitive, and abstractly should not be helpful - but I remembered even those. Before that, I tried learning Hiragana by pure repetition, which was slow and error-prone. Using these cards initially, and then testing myself with a free app, worked perfectly for me. Sadly, once used, you do not need them anymore.

Fantastic Flash Cards printed on high quality paper and much bigger than expected which is a plus. They helped me learn Hiragana and Katakana in about 2 weeks. Highly recommended!
