Lasted 4 years so far
I installed this 4 years ago in Minnesota, where we get extreme weather of all kinds. It has frozen, been rained on, snowed on, sleeted on, high winds, we even had ear gas during 2020. We had temperatures from -20 F to 110F and had multiple large branches fallen on it. Sometimes it fails, but always in the best way, at the bolt at the double back pint, where it does the least damage to the electrical infrastructure it is supporting. I am so glad I decided to use this to put up my lights in the back yard. I would have a friend help you install it. The cables can get a little heavy to wrangle for one person. After 4 years of extremes, the plastic covering is a little brittle and the cable is starting to rust, but it is still quite strong. I have no regrets, buy this! Spend a little extra and install your back yard lights right. You will not regret it.

Highly recommend
This is a very nice kit for the money and easy to work with. I used this kit to hang patio party lights from and it works great.

Excellent. Even a a nurse can install!!
Well made. Heavy duty. I am a 40 year old woman and was able to install this myself to hang curtains in my pavilion to add coziness to my hot tub area. The wire is strong enough to hang and not sag the curtains. I am a nurse by trade, not a mechanic. So there was trial and error during the install. The biggest thing I learned is to keep the turnbuckle open while hanging the wire as tight as possible. Then turn the turnbuckle to make it super tight. Of course this may be common sense for some people but was a learning curve for me. So turnbuckle open, attach anchors, Install wire, cut wire to needed length (leave extra length- you’ll need it when making adjustments) install the clamps to hold wire in place. Tighten turnbuckle. That simple. Very well made. And 150 feet of wire!! For this price ya can’t beat that. Just the wire at my local hardware store was 0.99 per foot. Craziness. I got the whole kit for WAY less than that. Definitely would purchase again.

Good Overall Product
The package was complete as described. The components were good quality. But I felt they were somewhat under sized. I would have like to have seen everything scaled up one or two sizes. This is especially given the intended use of supporting a sun shade. The kit being 3 assemblies makes sense for the intended application but I feel like it should have included 4 sets in case of part loss or failure. Lastly the instructions were lacking in that it didn't give any sizing assistance nor did it even mention the ferrules. But still overall a good kit.

Easy to read instructions and easy installation.
Came with more than enough wire to span a 24 foot patio. We hung from a wooden pole to a covered patio space to help with hanging string lights. Easy to adjust and fairly hardy. We had a more difficult time with the wire not pulling too hard on the wooden pole but that was a problem with the strength of a pole not the wire!

Light hanging cable
The only way to hang the lights, the cable takes the weight of the light and puts it on the pole and not on the light. They must have when you’re putting these outdoor lights up. It’s the only way that they’re gonna last in any length of time in the weather, we have here in Ohio and wind. And snow and cold they’ve been up now for two years and we added another section of lights this year so we had to buy more cable and stainless steel ends the ends do not rust either because they’re stainless and the cable is stainless.

Now my stalker neighbors can’t see me!!
Our old neighbors are batcrap crazy and have put four cameras aimed at our house and now turn floodlights on me whenever I sit outside. My husband put this cable system up across two sides. The heavy drape I used was a painters tarp and I held it up with curtain clips. The clips are running across the entire line and now hold up a wind chime and other decor. The kit had everything he needed and he made it really tight. You can run a line across the bottom to keep the cloth from blowing but I sewed some ties onto the back and tied it to the rails. I was not asked to review this, nor was I given any discount. This is a 100% real, honest review. This kit was the cheapest and I believe the best you can find on amazon. What an amazing house or birthday gift to give! We will be using this in our backyard to hold string lights since we have seen how sturdy it is! Always get the coated wire (like this) for outdoor use :)
