Question 1

I notice that you say this system has no pumps or bubblers, so how is overheating handled?  Also, what about freezing?

Thanks for the questions. The tank has a temperature and pressure valve that releases hot water to protect it from overheating. If the system is over-sized for the consumption, or in an area with especially good solar resources, we have various active and passive overheating recommendations on our website. As for freezing, the only part of the system that is susceptible is the plumbing between the tank and the conditioned space. We have passive (freeze protection valve) and active (re-circulation pump) methods to handle that, as well. Any more questions just let us know.

Would this system work for an outdoor shower?  What are the dimensions?

Absolutely works for an outdoor shower. If you want to use it just for the shower then you could plumb the cold water from a hose bib and have the hot go straight to the shower. Footprint is 4' x 7'. Email or check our website for diagrams thesunbank dot com.

I realize that south facing is usually best. but would flush mount on an east facing pitched roof in arizona still provide decent performance?

An east facing roof in Arizona will perform better than a south facing roof in most of the country because of how much sun you have there. You'll get better morning production than you would with a south facing system and not quite as much production in the afternoon.  Many of our customers have systems installed on east and west facing roofs.
