GREW WELL, BUT ATTRACTED APHIDS
The plant germinated well and grew nicely at first. It was beautiful and sturdy, and I was really happy with how healthy it looked as it got established. Unfortunately, it attracted aphids like crazy. I ended up having to separate it from my other plants to protect them, and despite my efforts, the plant eventually died. That was disappointing because it was doing so well otherwise. I am sad I could not save it, especially since it had been growing strong and looked like it had a lot of potential. Overall, the seeds themselves seemed viable, and the plant grew well, but be prepared to manage pests aggressively. If you plan to grow tamarillos, keep an eye out for aphids early and be ready to treat promptly to give them the best chance.

It wants the dirt...she used a combination of peat moss, cow manure, and potting soil.
I believe it's how you try to grow them. My girl grew all the seeds I gave her without issue in small starter pots. I put my in a Glad bag with a wet paper towel and nothing. It wants the dirt...she used a combination of peat moss, cow manure, and potting soil.
