Okay, I was afraid of trimming the nails of our two new kittens, and afraid I would hurt them, but we also don't like having our furniture torn to shreds, so they convinced us to give this a try (in the same way as our neighbor convinced us that we really did want a fence after all). Worked like a charm. Only took me a few minutes to get the front claws ground down to "tolerable" and "can't climb up the curtains any more" length, from "piercing" and/or "painful when climbing up your leg" length. Virtually no noise, so quick that the nails didn't heat up, and I was able to leave a comfortable length so as not to hurt the cats. No more pointed remarks from them. After the first minute, they put up with it, kind of like they do when we put hats on them for Halloween or Christmas. The USB charger is also fast and easy. Bonus - they donate a small amount to no-kill shelters, no idea how much (could be three cents), but still a nice gesture. I haven't tried any other brands so I can't compare, but I see no reason to look at any other. Update after a couple of months – the kittens grow claws so fast that we can't keep up with them, so we had to buy an actual clipper, even though the grinder still works as expected.

This is a great value. The clippers are nice and sharp and work well on my 8 month old labs nails. The grinder is super quiet and hardly bugs my puppy at all. It does a great job at rounding his nails. Only gripe is the clippers locking button falls off fairly easy but still a good value. Would buy again.

I am very happy with this nail grinder. My little pittie Mollie constantly had issues with her fast-growing nails but hated the clippers bc of her long quicks and also feared the groomer. This is excellent, she naps while I do her nails!! Very quiet and gentle as it works slowly so as to not injure, I am sure to not hold longer than ten seconds so as to not overheat her nail. What a stress relief to not have her terrified of clippers or groomers. She has very thick, strong nails so it takes a little while to get them down but I prefer this than to risk injury, and I simply do it regularly to keep her nails at optimal length. I also appreciate that part of the proceeds go to help shelter animals in need. Thank you for this product. I use cat clippers on my cat (for those with cats) and the trick is to slowly teach them to do one nail only per day and then treat and reassure so that they learn to not fear it.

The Clipper Component: The manual clipper included in this set is surprisingly sharp, but it requires a specific technique. I found that you have to be very firm and assertive with your grip to get a clean snip. If you hesitate or apply light pressure, it tends to chip or crush the nail rather than slicing through it. Once I realized it needed a "one and done" forceful motion, the results were much better, but it might be intimidating for nervous owners. The Electric Grinder: This is where the kit falls short. Despite being marketed as a 2-speed rechargeable unit, the motor feels underpowered. Even on the high setting, the rotation is quite slow. It takes a significant amount of time to smooth down a single nail, which is a problem if you have a dog that doesn't like to sit still for long periods. Battery & Ergonomics: - Pros: The unit is lightweight and the rechargeable battery holds a decent charge. It’s relatively quiet, which didn’t startle my pet. - Cons: Because the motor is "lousy" and slow, the friction can cause the nail to get warm before it’s actually shortened, which seemed to make my dog restless. Final Verdict: The clipper is a solid tool if you have the confidence to use it with force, but the electric grinder is too slow for anything other than very minor touch-ups on small breeds. If you have a dog with thick nails, you may find the grinding process frustratingly sluggish.

I turned it on with cover to see if my cat could handle the noise and vibration. She loved it rubbed ears and chin on it.. I tried it on one of nails before hers. She sat still. I tried it against my had to see how painful it would be if I slipped. It didn't hurt at all. When I push too hard it quits turning. I was amazed how efficient and yet safe it was. The clippers that came with it were perfect for my lil ones extra toes.

The quietest grinder I have ever used. The “quiet” ones I had had before sent my pets running Every time I turned them on. This one is quiet and effective and my pets are not scared of it. The clippers are easy to use and hold and have a nice, easy locking mechanism for when they are not in use. Overall, very good deal for the price. Thanks!

Great product for the price. I have a 65 lb dalmation, pit mix who doesn't love to sit still so it took a little longer than I'd like. But it got the job done! I like the angled clippers and the guard on them. Made it much easier to clip the nails, especially on the back paws. The grinder did not come charged, but charged fairly quickly and lasted through all four paws. Wish the guide on it was a bit bigger. Overall, worth the money!

I've had this nail grinder for almost a year and I use it as many as 3 times a week or sometimes a couple times a month. I charge it after I use it so it's ready for the next time I need it. It charges fine. It does a great job on my rat terriers nails. I don't clip his nails with the clippers and they look pretty mean anyway. I would like some replacement stones but have yet to find some. I would reccomend this item.

Two cats, both hate the grinder and we're not able to use it on them. Clippers work okay but fall apart.

Bought this about a month ago. Not a bad little grinder, however, the charging light never did work and still doesn't...which makes it hard to know when it's fully charged. Hopefully it does charge....still testing it out.
