Comprehensive guide - highly recommended!
I bought this as a gift for my sister, who is a prolific and talented (entirely self taught) illustrator looking to refine her technique. Incidentally, the book had also been recommended to her by a very senior design professional. She absolutely loved the book - she found it very useful. It is also beautifully drawn. The guide is comprehensive and would be great even for a novice. My fear with buying books online is paper quality. This book is more than satisfactory on that count! Cover as well as inside paper, printing - all great quality!

A Must Read
Its a must read book if you want to learn how to write a comics...its not only comics...you can apply the knowledge in story telling, film making and any kind of visual story telling.

Very Helpful Book
Book is no doubt awesome and very helpful, but the book was not in a good condition while I received plus packaging is not satisfactory. That's why not giving it 5 stars.

Es simplemente la guía más completa que vas a encontrar para adentrarte en el mundo de la creación de cómics y similares. Si bien puede llegar a beneficiarse de juntarlo con sus obras hermanas, creo que por si solo se mantiene perfectamente bien pues abarca un poco de ellas. Totalmente recomendado para cualquier nivel de experiencia de forma didáctica e incluso como lectura recreativa.

An excellent book for understanding visual storytelling and comics. A great follow up to Understanding Comics. I highly recommend both books, even if you aren't an artist / maker.

Très bonne suite à "Understanding Comics"
Si vous avez aimé "Understanding Comics", du même auteur, vous adorerez le troisième livre de la série (je ne possède pas le deuxième tome, ce n'est pas forcément nécessaire). C'est en anglais, mais les références culturelles utilisées sont généralement connues, et d'ailleurs parfois européennes ou manga. L'auteur maîtrise son art et ses connaissances culturelles sont pour le moins solides. L'auteur est agréable a lire : tout est en BD, par exemple. Un très bon livre pour fans de BD, mais aussi pour toute personne souhaitant renforcer ses compétences en graphisme et composition d'image.

Clássico obrigatório!
Se você escreve/desenha quadrinhos -- ou é um leitor interessado nessa forma de arte --, então não deixe de ler esse clássico. No meu caso, abriu a mente para muita coisa que eu não havia percebido, mesmo sendo um leitor há décadas.
