clean, well-executed
This is a straightforward high-strength vitamin C serum, and I think it does its job well. The formula is centered on 23% L-ascorbic acid, and based on testing with pH strips, it lands around 3.5. That’s important because it’s within the effective window for this type of vitamin C, while being a bit more tolerable than the very low pH versions. Texture is light and fluid. It spreads easily, sets fairly quickly, and leaves a noticeable tack that takes its time to fade. In the end, there isn't a heavy film or residue, and it layers cleanly with a simple moisturizer on top. This is not a moisturizing serum on its own, so you’ll still want something over it. The color out of the bottle is a very pale yellow, which is what you want to see. It’s not clear like water, but it’s also not drifting into orange, which would suggest oxidation. Scent is mild and typical for this type of formula, slightly sharp but not strong. Retail presentation is well thought out for vitamin C. The bottle is opaque, and the dropper is separate from the sealed cap, which helps limit exposure before first use. The 12 ml size is also practical here, since these formulas degrade over time. Smaller volume means you’re more likely to finish it while it’s still fresh. The ingredient list includes a long set of vitamins and extracts listed in ppm and ppb amounts. In practice, those are present at extremely low levels and aren’t contributing much. This is effectively a single-active product where the vitamin C is doing the work. At around $28 for 12 ml, the cost per ml is on the higher side for a fairly simple formula. You’re paying more for correct formulation and presentation than for complexity. Overall, this is a clean execution of a high-percentage vitamin C serum. Proper pH, appropriate packaging, and no gimmicks.

Gentle Vitamin C That Brightens Without Irritation
At 52, with post-menopausal dry and increasingly sensitive skin, I’m very cautious with Vitamin C serums. Many can be too strong, irritating, or oxidize quickly before you even get through the bottle. This one ended up being a very pleasant surprise and quickly became one I genuinely enjoy using. The first thing I noticed — and really appreciated — was the black bottle packaging. Vitamin C can be notoriously unstable and sensitive to light, so seeing this packaged in a darker bottle immediately gave me more confidence. It’s a thoughtful detail that helps protect the formula and maintain effectiveness over time, which is especially important with Vitamin C products. The texture is lightweight and easy to apply. It spreads smoothly and absorbs well without feeling sticky or heavy. Some Vitamin C serums can feel oily or tacky, but this one layers nicely with the rest of my routine and works well under moisturizer and sunscreen. What stood out most was how gentle this felt. I experienced no irritation, which is not always the case with Vitamin C — especially for dry, mature skin. Instead, my skin felt comfortable, hydrated, and smoother after applying it. That balance between effectiveness and gentleness is not always easy to find. Over time, I noticed a subtle brightening effect and a more even-looking complexion. It’s not an aggressive treatment, but it consistently improves overall skin tone and gives that healthy, fresh look. My skin appeared more radiant without looking shiny or overdone. Another thing I appreciate is that this works well alongside other products. It layers easily, doesn’t pill, and fits nicely into both morning and evening routines. That ease of use makes it easier to stay consistent, which is key for seeing results with Vitamin C. The size is smaller at 12ml, but with Vitamin C, that can actually be a benefit. Smaller bottles often help ensure you use the product while it’s still fresh and effective, which makes sense for this type of formula. Overall, this is a thoughtful, well-formulated Vitamin C serum that balances brightness, hydration, and gentleness — all in packaging designed to help maintain stability.

Bright, Smooth, and a Little Boujee
I picked this up because I’ve been trying to even out some leftover dark spots and just get my skin to look… less “I stayed up too late scrolling” and more “I drink water and make good choices.” You know, aspirational skin. Now let’s talk about that 23% Vitamin C, because that’s not playing around. This is one of those formulas where you expect either magic or chaos… and surprisingly, it lands right in that sweet spot where it’s strong but still wearable. When I first applied it, I got that classic vitamin C tingle—nothing alarming, just a gentle “hey girl, I’m working.” It absorbs nicely, doesn’t leave me looking greasy, and layers well without turning into a sticky mess under moisturizer or SPF. What I actually appreciate here is that they didn’t just throw vitamin C in and call it a day. You’ve got Panthenol and Allantoin helping calm things down so your skin isn’t in a full panic, plus a little Sweet Almond Oil to keep everything feeling comfortable instead of dry or tight. That balance is what makes this feel usable long-term instead of something you abandon after a week. And the results? My skin definitely looks brighter and more even, especially in areas where I tend to hold onto discoloration like it’s sentimental. It’s not an overnight “who is she?” transformation, but over a couple weeks, I noticed that smoother, more uniform tone creeping in—and I’ll take that. Also worth mentioning, this is one of the better high-strength vitamin C options I’ve tried at this price point. Usually when you go this strong, you either pay a lot more or deal with a formula that feels like it’s trying to fight you. This one behaves. If I had to nitpick, super sensitive skin might want to ease into it since 23% is not exactly shy. But for most people who already use actives, it’s very manageable. Overall, she’s bright, she’s effective, and she’s giving “glass skin but make it realistic.” For $28, this is a solid, no-nonsense vitamin C that actually earns its spot in the routine.

Works Great & Better Scent Than Others I've Tried
Finding a high % Vitamin C serum that doesn't smell like a backyard BBQ is a huge sigh of relief. Most potent L-ascorbic acid serums have that distinct metallic scent that lingers all day...however, this one manages to mask it with natural extracts like apple & sweet almond. It's still there if you really look for it, but it’s faint enough that it's actually wearable for daytime use without feeling self conscious. The formula feels significantly stronger than the previous serum I was using. Because it's so potent, I’ve had to be strategic with the application. Starting slow and layering a calming moisturizer over the top is a must to keep things comfortable. It isn't nearly as oily as other high percentage Vitamin C products I’ve tried in the past which makes it sit much nicer under my other skincare. I've been using this specifically to target stubborn hyperpigmentation and dark spots on my upper cheeks. While Vitamin C is never an overnight fix, it’s clearly helping to brighten those areas over time. The ingredient list is actually quite impressive beyond just the Vitamin C. It includes glutathione & caffeic acid which are effective for boosting the brightening effects and providing extra antioxidant protection. It also has panthenol & hyaluronic acid to help with that initial hydration, which probably explains why the texture feels so much more refined and less greasy. This is a great choice if you need something effective for spots but hate the heavy finish of traditional clinical serums. It's also a great fit for those just looking to boost overall radiance or get their skin looking more vibrant and glowy. Since I'm focusing on some reactive areas with hyperpigmentation, layering a targeted calming booster over this has been the perfect combination to get results without irritation. I also keep mine stored in my skincare fridge to ensure the active ingredients stay as fresh and potent as possible. Always remember to follow up with a good SPF if you're using this during the day to protect all that progress.

Nothing yet
I have used a few products from Pongdang so I had a baseline before trying the radiance booster serum. First impression it is lightweight absorbs quickly and doesn’t make my skin feel dry or tight which already puts it ahead of a lot of serums. It layers easily under moisturizer so it fits into a simple routine without drama. The price is reasonable enough that testing it out does not feel like a financial gamble. Now i am waiting for a big reveal because I have not noticed a major difference in brightness or tone yet. It might be one of those products that needs more time but right now I am still waiting for that clear standout moment.

High potency Vit C serum
So this serum has fantastic ingredients, let’s start with that. Plus they list the concentrations of the important ingredients. This lets you know just how much of what you’re getting. In addition to a whopping 230,000 ppm of ascorbic acid it also has 10,000 ppm of ethyl ascorbic acid which is also very effective and a bit more stable. Important to note that this kind of Vit C serum needs to be used pretty quickly after opening and refrigerated so it stays fresh and effective. The packaging says to use within 6 months of opening but the listing says 2. My guess is that it’ll last longer than 2 months if it’s kept cool. You can usually see when Vit C loses its effectiveness because it will brown so I keep using mine til they’re either empty or I see the serum has darkened. You’ll hear a little pop when you open it. That’s always a good sign of a quality high potency vitamin C serum! I have to say that this is not as thick and oily or as smelly as other concentrated Vit C serums I’ve used which makes it easier to wear. It also didn’t cause a tingle. Maybe I’m just used to Vit C by now and less sensitive or perhaps some of the other ingredients make it more comfortable and takes the edge off. It leaves a very thin and light “oil” feeling on the skin at first but I find it absorbs very well for this type of product. It also doesn’t smell like weird hot dog water which some do believe it or not. Honestly? It’s one of the better Vit C serums I’ve tried an if you want to tackle dark spots and even skin tone, this strong serum is a good bet. The price is totally justifiable.

Gentle yet effective vitamin C serum for a healthy glow
The PONGDANG Radiance Boost Pure Vitamin C 23 Serum made a great first impression, especially with its black bottle packaging. Since Vitamin C formulas can break down quickly when exposed to light, the darker bottle feels like a smart and thoughtful choice that helps maintain the serum’s stability and effectiveness over time. The texture is lightweight, smooth, and very easy to work into the skin. It absorbs quickly without leaving behind a sticky, greasy, or heavy feeling, which can sometimes happen with stronger Vitamin C products. It layers beautifully with moisturizer and sunscreen and fits easily into both morning and evening routines. What stood out the most to me was how gentle the formula feels. Despite containing 23% Vitamin C, it didn’t irritate my skin or cause dryness, redness, or stinging. Instead, my skin felt hydrated, comfortable, and smoother after application. That combination of strength and gentleness is hard to find, especially for dry or mature skin types. I noticed my skin gradual brightening and a more even-looking complexion. The results are subtle rather than dramatic, but my skin definitely looked healthier, fresher, and more radiant overall. It gives a natural glow without making the skin appear oily or overly shiny.

PONGDANG Radiance Boost Pure Vitamin C 23 Serum
Deploying a potent 23% concentration of pure L-ascorbic acid, this Korean serum successfully balances aggressive performance with impressive dermal comfort. It delivers the signature active tingle upon application, indicating potency, yet absorbs cleanly without generating a sticky or greasy residue beneath moisturizers. The formulation is exceptionally well-rounded, utilizing panthenol, allantoin, and sweet almond oil to actively mitigate the irritation and tightness usually triggered by high-strength actives. Over several weeks of consistent use, it yields a visible, realistic brightness and a more uniform skin tone across areas prone to stubborn discoloration. It stands out as an incredibly well-behaved, high-potency option at a very accessible price point.
