Modest but excellent. This is only the second watch that I have worn this millennium and I'm very pleased with it. My review of this device: Zero ensh**tification here. Casio still makes a great watch. 🥂 to them! I bought this 2 years ago for less than $20, as I recall. It's been on my wrist almost every day since then and it keeps time perfectly- it hasn't lost a minute. It's been in water parks, showers, sinks, and even in the North Sea once, and never a drop got in. I wear it working on cars, working around the yard, and surprisingly few scratches on the face. I was not a fan of the rubberized bracelet, but it has worked quite well. I often leave it on at night, because it's pretty comfortable. It doesn't pull the hairs on my wrist, it doesn't get stinky. I wish it was about a half inch longer, I'm only on the third hole, but that's about it. On the Virtues of an Inexpensive Watch: It's such a modest watch that I don't worry about getting robbed. A man who wears a $20 Casio wrist watch is probably not worth robbing. I think it's low price is what has made it invulnerable. If I lose it, break it, or water gets in it, I'm only out 20 bucks. I think that's why none of those things have happened- fate is saving its sting for greater targets. On the Virtues of Wearing a Watch: I had gotten out of a habit until 3 years ago, when I started wearing a wrist watch again. I'm so glad I have it, I depend on it and when I forget to wear it I miss it. Yes, I always have my phone on me and it can tell me the time. But I'm glad I wear a watch for the following reasons: - The steady progression of the analog hands reminds me the time is linear and incremental, not episodic, which it is when you just look at the number on your phone now and then. -I can use it to time things with the sweep second hand. - i can use it as a compass when I'm l hiking (I'll let you look that one up). -Also, I can just glance down and see what time it is surreptitiously. When you take your phone out of your pocket and look at it, everybody sees that, and it kills a moment: "Oh, I should let you go." Looking at your watch reads more like a nervous tick, or you can rotate it to the inside of your wrist and just kind of hold up your arm, or you can scratch your right arm with your left, putting your watch right in front of your face. Now you found out what time it is and did not make a big deal of it.

I bought this watch to keep my vintage mechanical watches from getting beat on. I liked this one for the same reasons others may not…It’s small (34mm), it has no complications, and it’s a simple analogue watch with no lume…Just a basic no-frills watch. The variant I got (7B2) wasn’t my first choice, but it was the cheapest one. I actually like how easy it is to read as compared to some of the other variants. Though I just got it yesterday, I’m in love with it and I can’t seem to take it off. I barely feel it. The resin strap is comfortable, and the watch is so thin that it just melts into my wrist. Due to the fact that I like to work on cars and motorcycles, and I prefer to not have to take my watch off to do it, I’m getting a tempered glass crystal protector for it. A lot of the reviews I’ve read said the crystal scratches easily. One might not bother since it’s such a cheap watch, but I want to see how long this thing lasts me before I need to replace it. Pro tip: If you’re not picky about which MQ-24 variant you wind up with (there are several), and you want to get one of these as cheap as possible, watch them here for a few days, because the price on a couple of the variants will dip down to $17.97, which is sub-$20 shipped here in the USA. MSRP is $29.95, so that’s not a bad deal. The money I saved paid for the crystal protector I bought. As an apprentice watchmaker that’s been inside of several watches, I can see this thing lasting, whereas the cheap watches with the date complication tend to fail due to that malfunctioning, and the ones with the lume get discolored and can lose their luminosity and/or flake off. I highly recommend this watch to anyone who has done the research and has determined its style, size, and simplicity works for them.

THIS is how all watch faces should be! EASY to read! The MQ24-7B2, aka MQ24-7BLL, has simply perfect proportions of the numericals for ageing eyes, and is a joy to look at. This dirt-simple little watch is a dream work "beater", is light, smooth, light on the wrist, comfy, and stays out of the way! Too many "tough" watches are clunky and have spikes and protrusions that get in the way and get snagged everywhere, but not this one! The white-dial/black-hands contrast is exceptional, and makes it readable even in dim conditions. This 16 dollar watch is remarkably tough for not being a G-Shock, and I even wore it for a year in a hardware store job, where it got banged up with heavy garden wall-stones and heavy metal pieces. It also get drenched in hard garden-hose spray, packed in mud, washing hands, wearing it in the shower, and despite Casio claiming no depth rating, it never got a leak, so working around water I found not to be a problem! It is most importantly a seriously good time-keeper and gains only about 10 to 12 seconds per month! The "crystal" is tough plastic, and does scratch over time. This can be polished out with a thing called "Polywatch", and is well worth doing so. It may be a cheap watch, but is so good, I would find it a shame to toss it for any reason, and a new battery was well worth the few cents, when it ran out after about 4 years or so! The crystal catches no reflections from all over, because it is flat, and I actually found that all the fine scratches I collected made i even less reflective than it already was, helping to make this watch even better in all light conditions :) Like mentioned, I did polish the watch, and it looks a bit worn, and now has real character, with the crystal smooth and just fine with a fine pattern of microscopic fine lines in it, that actually reduce reflectivity! SIZEWISE: Don't even try to complain about this being some girl's or "unisex" watch, code speak by wannabe machos for nasty slurs. This classic Casio uses the old men's size of 35mm, the size used until the 80's, for watches worn as dress watches and in WW2 by tough guys, commandos, paratroopers, storm troopers, seals, etc. MOST were made in Switzerland and sold to all sides, Nazies and Allies! James Bond's first Rolex Submariner was a nowadays diminutive for a dive-watch 38mm size, thanks to the extra outside timer bezel requiring it to be bigger than 35mm, believe it or not! CONCLUSION: Youtube "influencers" have described this as "God Tier", because this watch does just everything so right. I don't do god-stuff, but I agree, that this is one of the greatest of all times, when it comes to simple and highly functional watches! ALSO: Casio's plastic straps are known to break after a few years (they DO break after 1 to 3 years!), and this one is worth a cheap 16mm NATO cloth strap you can buy in some places for 3 bucks, or an original replacement Casio strap, once that happens!

My oldest granddaughter has become fascinated with my watch collection and is always after me to let her wear my watches. She just accomplished writing her name by herself for the first time (at 3yo), so as a reward I got her this watch. At 33mm 36mm lug to lug, this is slightly larger than some "kids" watches out there, but I'm out to get her able to recognize her numbers consistently and actually tell time, not read a digital display. This is a wonderful piece for that -- super legible, some water resistance, and inexpensive so if she manages to crack the crystal or just loses it, it's not a heartbreaking situation. One thing folks should be aware of, and the product Q&A didn't seem to really hit on, is that the band is absolutely replaceable, but the specs are WRONG. This is NOT a 20mm band. I bought a nice hot pink (of course her favorite color) child's size 20mm band and it's too big. Fortunately for me, I'd at the same time purchased a kids sized Zulu-style strap (also in hot pink -- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M04HXPQ) that stated 16mm compatibility. It wasn't easy, due to the way the spring bars are set further back into the lugs than a lot of my watches, but I did get the Zulu installed. You can't do what you'd normally do -- put in the spring bars and thread the strap through, though. The bars being set further back means a 1.3mm thick strap won't just thread through. What you have to do (and I've done this on some Chinese origin pieces I own) is push the strap fully up into the little gap that exists "behind" the spring bar holes and push the spring bar fully in against the strap. This isn't easy, and the result has the spring bars under more horizontal tension than I'd like (which means the strap may pop out under normal wear) but again, if it happens and she loses the watch, it's not so expensive I'll be upset in any way. So many watches could learn from the simplicity of this piece. It is amazingly readable even for a 33mm watch. The alignment of the second hand is spot on (which I can't say for some other brands I've spent 20x over the price of this), it's of quartz so of course it is accurate. The crown is a little tough to work with, but it's a tiny watch, so of course it is. It's not screw-down, but it's a $15 watch so of course it isn't. All in all, I'm super happy with this pick up. Granddaughter was ecstatic and loves it.

Excellent value. Amazon says I've bought this watch 6 times. I think it might be more than that, but whatever. It's overall excellent. It's very light and comfortable. It's highly accurate. The aesthetics suit me fine. The price is great. The battery seems to last about a year in normal use. That seems reasonable. I've never tried to replace a battery although that might be possible. When one of mine runs down I just switch to a new watch.

I read a lot of reviews for this watch before buying it. In fact I purchased this over the other casio watch Casio Men's MQ24-1E Black Resin Watch because those reviewers complained about the watch having too small of a face and band. Well, this watch I found has the same issue for me. I am an average guy; 5'8", 190lbs, do a lot of physical work but not buff. I do not have "cankles" for wrists (or would you call them "wrankles"?). Anyway, point is, just an average male. I bought this watch because honestly, "watch stink" from keeping my watch on my wrist 24/7 literally ruined my favorite watch (no replacement bands available for the unique design of the watch face). I had to go through two of these expensive watches to learn what the heck "watch stink" even was. But I was not going to throw down a lot of money on yet another of these watches. However being watchless was driving me absolutely crazy! My watch was more important that even having my iPhone on me! So I just caved in and ordered this guy. It was a couple bucks cheaper than the casio black analogue sister watch (link above). I love/hate this watch. In short I do not like this watch for the following reasons: the watch face is slightly small (just a tad), the band is not long enough and is veryyy thin. But I KNEW this before purchasing - I'm only saying it again for emphasize to guys out there. I also do not like paper thin watch bands. I like that thick rubber or nylon feeling. The thin resin strap is cost-effective and does its job, but it's so thin and flimsy I am always tempted to rip it off my wrist at least once a day. The length of the strap is not very long either. So the buckle ends up being almost on the side of my wrist instead of under it, like it should be. I'm at the 3rd/4th to last hole. The watch in person does not look professional. But the resin strap is really the only thing that reallllly bugs me. Aside from that I appreciate that Casio made this watch practical and useful despite its price. There are a lot of junk watches out there at the same price range. These watches will have their finishes peel off, scratch easily and will not be water resistant. They will perform as cheaply as they are made. This watch surprisingly differs in that regard. It's accurate with time, simple simple simple (love that part). And is water resistant up to 50M (just make sure the screw dial pin is pushed all the way in!). The watch face is simple, sleek, and easy to read. No funky numbers, small numbers or other distractions on the face. As much as I want to call this the perfect "beater watch," when I think of beater watch I think of something that's extremely durable under abuse and will last- not so much the other line of thought "I'll just toss it if it breaks and not cry over spilt milk." I don't like throwing things away or using things that are prone to being disposed of early on. So while I want to use this watch for my dirty tasks like work around the house, while working on my car, working with animals, etc. I do not get the feeling that this watch will stand to much abuse. I will test it out though and confirm in an update when/if this watch breaks. If there was a $20 version of this watch - one that had a longer, thicker strap, slightly bigger watch face, and the inclusion of a small date window - I would buy it in a heartbeat! For about $8 though, if you are skinny/have really narrow wrists this is perfect! Also want to mention this is not a gender-specific watch. It's truly universal. Just because it fits on narrow wrists, don't let that fool you. Both guys and gals have thin and thick wrists. This watch is ideal for the narrow-wristed folks out there. Enjoy!

If you are reading this review, stop after this next sentence and just make a decision. Flip through the other tabs you have open with the other ultra-affordable watches and choose the one that seems most aesthetically pleasing to you and just buy it. At the time of this review the watch is priced at $4 ($3.99 to be exact) and is eligible for Prime shipping--all by itself, even (i.e. not as an add-on). I bought this watch for just under $10 about a month ago. At its current price, it's borderline irresponsible to not buy this watch if you are in the market and the spartan style doesn't turn you off. The watch is nothing special. It is a very cheap timepiece and acts as such. That said, I am remarkably happy with it considering its cheap price. Few people wear watches these days. I didn't until I started having to constantly write the time down for my job and got tired of pulling out my cellphone. Most people wear watches now more for form than function, as is evident through the garish monstrosities that some men wear these days (and the overly ornate and ultra-tiny watches women wear). Having not worn a watch for many years, I was originally quite torn between analog and digital, but ultimately went with analog for its classic style. Aesthetically, the watch is nothing to write home about. It is a very simple looking watch. The watch band is made of non-reflective rubber which almost looks like something less cheap if you aren't looking directly at it and are partially blind. The numbers stand out quite well and the face's bright white backing make it almost luminescent in dim lighting (although without the added cost!). You won't win any awards for fashion with one of these clunkers. Function-wise, the bold letters and white face make this a very easy watch to read. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the seconds-hand does not make that barely audible tapping that some more expensive watches do--that noise was one of the many reasons that I stopped wearing an analog watch some many years ago, actually. It has quite consistently kept accurate time for the month-and-change that I've had it and I expect it will for a while until the battery starts to run down. My only real complaint with the watch is that the timepiece part seems slightly thick, mostly due to the faux-glass plastic face cover protrudes from the rest of the body and forms a considerable lip. This wouldn't be an issue except that it makes it difficult to fit my shirt cuffs over the watch. Because of this, I find that the cuff winds up shoving the watch into the crook of my wrist and can become somewhat irritating. At that point I usually take the watch off and set it on my desk so as to have easy access to the time still. So bonus points for being a makeshift clock, I suppose. If the body were thinner I would rate this five stars. As it stands, I would not hesitate to recommend this to a friend or family member for the low low $4 price at which it currently stands. For those of you with paler skin, though, the black is quite deep and will contrast very starkly with your skin tone (I know this because it happens with me). So be sure you're okay with this attention drawn to it since the watch isn't exactly a beauty queen. For four dollars and Prime shipping, though, skip going out to dinner and buy four or five of these for the same price (or one and spend the rest of the money on other stuff you don't need--you earned it!).

This is a basic watch that keeps time perfectly. For $20 you simply can't get a better value. It is waterproof, and I have abused the heck out of it. A year later and it's still working great. I do miss the date feature. Maybe when this one does I'll get the $21 model.

This is probably the 5th time I've ordered this watch over many years. My first one was only $5.00. For everyday they are perfect. However, this time I didn't receive what I ordered. I received one with a gold background without visible numbers. I like the original one with the big numbers with a white face background. Hopefully next time they will send the correct one.

Very happy overall. Watch is accurate. Was a little disappointed though. Didn`t realize the watch face was so small, like a children`s watch, but still wearing it often. Used to bigger watches though. Looks a bit like a Swatch.

Casio have always been a fairly reliable brand, and this watch was great. I ordered it for a friend as a gift, and although it was a little small, it was quite stylish and works well. It has a bit of a retro vibe to it and looks great with many outfits. The numbers are big and easy to read. It's water resistant and comes with a battery, and I'm not sure how long the battery will last, but it's a great price.

This is a cheap piece of rubbish. I got it for my son who works in a plant nursery. The watch broke after 1 week. Don't buy this.
