MY QUEST My old underwear seriously needed replacement. I figured that now was a good time to look at updated styles. Thus began my quest for the “perfect” underwear. RESEARCH AND RESEARCH CRITERIA I read countless reviews on other products before deciding to purchase these. I looked at Sheath, David Archy, Band of Thieves, Bamboo Cool, just to name of few. I even took a look at Tani, but I don’t think that was ever seriously on the table because I’m not about to spend upwards of $45 for ONE pair of underwear. My research criteeria was comfort, durability, fit for my personal body type, price, and day-to-day wear when walking, standing, sitting, etc. A minor consideration was appearance. COMFORT The first thing that steered me to try these was the incredible reviews about the softness of this product’s bamboo fabric. I was curious about the hype of bamboo fabric. Believe me, I was not disappointed. These Separatec are softest underwear I have ever worn. DURABILITY That leads me to my next criteria: Durability. I noticed that Bamboo Cool repeatedly had men complaining that their Bamboo Cool brand fell apart after several washings (and they posted pictures to prove it). Men reviewing Separatec repeatedly remarked that their experience on durability was excellent. I noticed that after my wife washed these boxer briefs for the first time, they looked exactly like they did when I took them out of the box. FIT Of course, every body type is different. For me, the size medium is true to size and as expected. Logistically, there is definitely a learning curve (please pardon the pun). However, for me, once I got accustomed to the pouch technology, the excellent comfort was undeniable. An interesting comment my wife made is that shopping for the right fit for men’s underwear seems be getting as complicated as shopping for the right fit for a woman’s bra. PRICE Yes, these are a little steep compared to Hanes, etc. However, for me, it’s worth it. Sheath brand has similar technology, but they are more expensive. Men rave about Tani’s Swiss supima cotton, but there is no way I’m going to spend $45 for ONE pair of underwear (moreover, some men said they were just “meh”.) DAY-TO-DAY WEAR As for day-to-day wear, my experience is that these boxer briefs remain comfortable no matter what position I’m in. I want to mention that I have also tried a new Separatec product, the Cool Dry Sport Performance Underwear 8” Boxer Briefs which are also sold here on Amazon. These excel when it comes to athletics, hot weather, or any physical labor where you tend to get sweaty and need a quick-drying fabric. APPEARANCE My taste is very conservative. I purchased these boxer briefs in black with two subtle “racing stripes” on either leg (red, green and blue). My wife likes the way they look and that’s good enough for me. FINAL THOUGHTS It’s pretty hard to ignore the fact that this product has, as of October 19, 2021, nearly 6,500 reviews and 4 1/2 stars. If the pouch technology and bamboo softness sound good to you, than you might find these to be a good fit. I certainly was not disappointed. UPDATE 6/11/23: Just a quick tip: If you are concerned about the seam of the waist band tearing, do not pull up this underwear by the waist band. As a rule, that’s a good idea for any “stretchy” type underwear.

See bottom for update :) I used to wear generic target brands because that's what my parents bought me. I grew up, and moved on to underarmor and Calvin Klein. I saw an advertisement for a certain famous ball hammock underwear brand on Instagram, and thought "dang, that looks comfy" but then saw it was CRAZY expensive, even more than Calvin 🤣. I ended up buying a few pairs regardless, and a few weeks later after doing some research on reddit, someone suggested THIS brand. Oh. My. Goodness. I never knew separating both my junks, would be so FREE. And the material for this underwear is REALLY NICE. It's soft, and it's very cool! I got medium, because I wear medium, fit me perfect. And the price is so much better than the OTHER brand I bought. Won't name names, but it rhymes with dynasty and starts with an S lol. Man, seriously guys this is some good frigging underwear. I'd say, the material is very light and breathable, and the way the flap works around ur ding dong is made where it let's air in and out, but still covers ur stuff, idk how to explain it, but it's so good. One thing is, and this might be a legitimate problem for some, is the hole for ur stuff does require u to have a reasonable size thing. Like if it's micro, it may literally not fit, making it kinda useless. Also, the ball hammock part, you gotta actually situate by pulling the underwear up a bit. Basically don't have a small pp, and don't sag ur underwear like a child lol. Edit: 2024 Feb, no holes, still comfy, and with it being so comfy, so soft, and keeping my stuff separate, I've had zero sweat issues, and zero smell issues. Best amazing product ever I swear to God 🤣 Edit: my last edit, 2025 April. The underwear has stretched, and no longer holds the compression shape. It happens, but I've had underwear hold the compression shape for many many more years. I think it's because it is bamboo (i might be pulling that out of my butt) so it's not has durable I suppose as nylon, but it breaths so much better that it feels very worth the trade off, and don't get me wrong, still no holes, I wear them all still lol, they are just a lil loose now. I think it would be cool if we got more fabric choices with this brand! Still a 10/10 product! OKAY REAL LAST EDIT: OH MY GOD THEY DO HAVE DIFFERENT FABRICS. LETSGOOOO

These are great. Fit great, feel great, seperate the frank from the beans great. Get you some.

One son liked them. Great material-so soft they're almost silky, cooling, supportive, less sticky in the heat, and they wash well. They are comfortable according to the son I didn't buy them for. The other son didn't like the separate feel at all, not even for sports? Personal preference was the lesson learned in our house.

Ok going to get real with this review. Let me start off by saying I know it’s a little weird. I was with you, but keep in mind these were made with men’s benefits in mind. It’s not just a gimmick. Out of the box the packaging makes you feel like you bought something of value. The bamboo feels great and the seams are well stitched. They stay in place when running and exercising with out riding up. Now for the weirdness to them. 2 pouches? Not really 2 pouches but 2 separate compartments. Yes keeping them separate Was a game changer. The lower hanging fruit gets its own pouch. Which is just added material to the underwear for you to tuck the boys in. With that you will never have to worry about them getting in the way nor sticking to the thigh on hot days. Boxer, and boxer brief wearing guys knows what I’m talking about. #realtalk#strugglesarereal. Less touching to readjust in public seems to me a good thing. Now for the other guy. It gets its own dedicated cut out (a hole) in the underwear where it goes through. Then a piece of material goes over it. No it’s not just hanging out freely. Calm down, their is enough material to cover it. Be real you’re not dealing with a hanging banana anyways. It’s locked up even though it’s not “really” in the underwear. When using #1 you don’t pull down your underwear you just lift the flap. Hard to explain with out a visual and sorry not going to add one for the sake of the internet. Your going to have to trust me as a skeptic myself. To start off the day you take an extra second or two too really get them snuggled in there own respected areas of real-estate and you won’t have to mess with them having a cage match fighting for dominance down their. A couple draw backs I would say is it takes a little to get used to at first. I almost gave up on it but glad I didn’t. Also for them being bamboo yet they are very comfortable they do take a bit more to dry. I know it’s a little weird but I hope this review helped you ease into the idea of these because they do have their benefits.

(Update 11APR2018) Price increased 20% - Took 1 star away from value...Bottom review still stands minus initial value. I really liked these at $8 p/pair Day 3 Convinced. I'm ready to throw in the towel and mass order these without a sale. Right now they are out of mediums but it's laundry day so I'll run a wash and let you guys know tomorrow how they are after the first wash. I feel great not having to pick or adjust myself. I honestly thought this was something I'd have to fix with cognitive therapy since I'm so OCD and focus on my itchiness but no, so far THIS is working! Day 2 Today I wore my normal underwear out of habitat and started getting the itch. I rolled my eyes and then remembered what an opportunity to see if this would curb that. So I changed underwear and wow. Itchiness gone. This is probably a mental thing where if something itches me I just focus meticulously on that itch (OCD/anxiety). So while YMMV, I can see more buys in the future :). Upped to 4 stars Day 1 Ok so not enough reviews on exercising so with the option of free returns this seems risk free. I looked at reviews and Q&As for exercising. I usually adjust the boys when I'm getting a good cardio session in. I use monistat which has the best lube to stop chafing IMO. This drives me nuts (heh pun intended) always having to carry this. So I researched to see what others were doing and boom I found an expensive kickstarter underwear that had a story that said "That's me!" I even had to put a towel in my shorts while running to relieve my jock area. Cotton never felt so great. So that's my story of irritation and the search for good cardio underwear. Now Im not paying $30 a pair, so Amazon, gimme ur best knock off. And here we are. Ok into the review. Comfort: I'll put this first as I think it's super important. The first 5 mins of my workout I was crossing itchy scrotum city where I was ready to toss and just freeball the remainder of my workout. After 5 mins I adjusted like huh. That's strange. Ok let's see if the rest of the anatomy can handle this. So far so good. Did a 10 min warm up and that's where the itching began but went away after 5mins. I'd suggest a little vaseline if ur super sensitive there but if u can battle it I think your body will adjust from your own sweat. After my workout I went back to do an hr on the elliptical. Wow. Just wow. I exercised without a lube or plucking. Let's see how well these bad boys perform after a few washes. So far I'm impressed. And I will update my review as well. Price: 3 for 24. Kickstarter brand 1 for 30. I'd say price is quite decent borderline great Customer Service: I cannot grade this just yet but any issues and I will work with their team and update. Value: Good. I think that it's worth the money. I'd like to have the option to buy more at a % discount. 3 for 30 is not cheap for many folks but the end payoff is well worth it. I look forward to owning more after running them thru the wash a few times. These are my two cents. No discounts or freebies for this review
